Brand New Vapur Element The Anti-Bottle line 0.7L, White/ Blue/ Black
The Vapur element anti-bottle is the ground-up designed, bpa-free, collapsible hydration vessel with a tough-seal, easy-open Supercap! Your new anti-bottle is a clutch-friendly trend-setting high-capacity space-saver! Ease of UseThe supercap is simple to use, and easy to drink from. However the Vapur has a relatively small neck, so it may be harder to fill in shallow fountains or springs.DurabilityThe Vapur has withstood our testing so far, a bit under a year of weekly use. Vapur claims the bottles last for three to four years on their website, and while I’m skeptical they would survive the same treatment that a Nalgene would endure over that period, I believe that the element could certainly survive lifestyle use for that amount of time.Leak-proofnessFrom the beginning, we were extremely dubious of the Vapur’s flippytop. There is nothing external holding the top down, so we suspected that it would immediately be knocked open, spill all our water, and cause us to die of an unpleasant combination of dehydration and hypothermia. Much to our delight, this series of events never played out. The flippy top did an excellent job of keeping all water inside the “anti-bottle”. The Vapur is unquestionably leak-proof.UtilityThe Vapur crew makes quite a fuss about the convenience of rollable, flexible anti-bottle, but it is well accompanied on this front. An equally sized Platy Plus will roll up to the same size, perhaps even smaller. The Vapur’s flippytop makes the act of drinking easier, but while the cap never failed, I still wouldn’t trust it in places where water is scarce. It feels too insecure. Additionally, the Vapur’s small capacity (the largest size manufactured is one liter) is less than ideal for situations where we would normally bring a collapsible bottle, as backup reservoir backpacking, for exampleBottom lineThe Vapur is a great bottle, and we regularly use it for day-to-day activities. But for more extreme adventures, we reach for something with a bit more volume, like the larger sizes of the Platy Plus.
