During Apple’s September 12 event, the company unveiled three of its latest and smartest iPhones to date: iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max. While the other devices didn’t disappoint in terms of specs, the iPhone XS was the star of the show as it has a 512GB storage variant, a much-improved A12 chip, and a more stunning display. Here’s everything you need to know about iPhone XS price, release date, and specs.
iPhone XS Price
The iPhone XS is available in three storage variants – 64GB (~PHP 54,045), 256GB (~PHP 62,160), and 512GB (~PHP 72,980). It will come in Space Gray, Silver, and Gold color options.
iPhone XS Release Date
Pre-orders for the iPhone XS start on September 14, while its global release date is on September 21 where you can pick it up through Apple stores and other retailers.
iPhone XS Specs
As the successor to last year’s iPhone X, it’s needless to say that the iPhone XS comes with some improvements, although not as plentiful as one would expect. Some of the most noticeable additions/upgrades include a new gold color, better processing speed, and louder speakers.
iPhone XS Design
Design-wise, the iPhone XS isn’t much different from the iPhone X, except for the addition of the Gold variant. It also comes with a steel frame, as well as a 5.8-inch Super Retina OLED display with the notch at the top.
iPhone XS Cameras
The iPhone XS comes with two 12MP cameras on the back, which both wield optical image stabilization that helps minimize blurring. One of the sensors provides a wide field of view to ensure good-quality shots in low light, while the other offers 2x zoom to magnify subjects. You can expect an overall good photo quality on the iPhone XS with the help of the all-new A12 chip’s Neural engine that improves image processing performance.
iPhone XS Battery Life and Processor
While Apple hasn’t disclosed the iPhone XS battery capacity yet, they claimed that the device can last 30 minutes longer than its predecessor. It comes with wireless charging and dual-SIM capability that is featured in units that will be shipped from China, while others will get one SIM slot and an eSIM. The iPhone XS also houses the latest A12 Bionic chip which extends battery life and enhances the quality of images. All thanks to its 7nm process and built-in AI that can perform 5 trillion operations per second, which is 8 times better than last year’s A11 chip.
