Asus FonePad 8 exterior

In terms of build quality, the Asus FonePad 8 is nothing short of extraordinary. Competing with the top tablet brands in the market, the Asus FonePad 8 features Asus’ signature Oleophobic coated casing with a screen size of up to 8.0 inches with full HD display IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen and 16M colours. For its size, the FonePad is relatively lightweight at 328g.

Multitask and organize

The FonePad 8 is one handy tool for organizing your daily activity. Running on the Android OS, v4.4.2 (KitKat), the FonePad 8 is smooth and easy to access. The Intel Atom Z3530 chipset along with a Quad-core 1.33 GHz processor is fast for most processes although user experience may vary with heavy activity such as gaming. Dual-SIM capability also allows for work and play.

Storage space and camera features

For every tablet, storage space is one of the key selling points. The Asus FonePad 8 comes with 16GB internal storage with an external option of microSD card up to 64GB. Options for RAM come at 1 or 2GB. Moving on to the camera, the FonePad 8’s rear camera is a 5MP autofocus shooter while the front is a 2MP camera for your selfie game. Of course you won’t usually buy a tablet for its camera features, but the FonePad 8’s camera does well for basic functions.

Other specs

Basic features of the FonePad 8 include GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Hotspot capabilities along with stereo speakers, MP3/MP4 compatibility. A bunch of sensors that come in handy are the accelerometer, proximity, compass while MMS, Email, Push Mail and IM are suitable for work. As for battery power, the FonePad 8 sports a non-removable Li-Po battery (15.2 Wh) that gives 3G talk time up to 21 hours.

Overall, the FonePad 8 is one hybrid tablet you have to consider. If you love Asus (which we’re guessing you do), then you should take a sneak peek at the Asus FonePad 8.
