The Asus VX239H is a 23-inch desktop monitor that has a sleek, Advanced High-Performance In-Plane Switching (AH-IPS) panel. It boasts a wide viewing angle, good color reproduction, sleek design, and a matte display panel. You will get all these impressive features for a budget-friendly price of under PHP 10K. Here is a rundown of its specs and features.
The Asus VX239H has a sleek black chassis and a design language that is similar to its premium predecessor, the MX239H. It has a slim frame that exposes most of the monitor’s panel. The panel has a matte finish that looks great in optimal lighting conditions. On the sides, the Asus VX239H is only 14.5mm thick, although there are other models in the market that have thinner displays. If you prefer performance over aesthetics, then this monitor is a great choice.
Meanwhile, the exterior on the back of the monitor has a sleek Black hue that is coupled with the Asus logo. The display also has a sundial-like stand that adds elegance to the overall design. All in all, the VX239H has a design and build quality that is something you will expect from Asus. Its build quality is quite solid and the design is well crafted. It will bend in onto your desk without experiencing any issues.
On the right side of the monitor, you’ll find the menu buttons and the navigational buttons. These buttons are actually sensors which are placed between projecting rings that will give a feel similar to touching an input device. The back of the monitor is where the I/O ports are situated, coupled with openings for the speakers and the Kensington lock hole which secures the monitor with a Kensington lock.
The monitor’s menu comes with five settings which are not difficult to navigate. The first submenu is the Splendid that will help you tweak the monitor’s settings with little intervention via presets. The Color menu comes with options that should let you configure the monitor’s color temperature, brightness, saturation, skin tone, and contrast. There’s also the Image menu that is the location of the ASUS’ ASCR and VividPixel. And lastly, you will get access to the System Setup setting and Input mode.
Unlike monitors with TN panels, the IPS display on the Asus VX239H offers great color reproduction and impressive viewing angles. This means you can look at the panel almost everywhere without noticing any shift in contrast. When using the VX239H for gaming, you can expect a fluid performance with no noticeable ghosting or blurring. Not to mention, it provides a better response time than first-generation IPS panels.
