HTC introduces the U Play smartphone into their mobile inventory. The latest offering from HTC is a value-for-money smartphone that consists of many plus points. Design wise, HTC has taken its cues from U Play’s higher-priced brother, the U Ultra. Hence, the device looks better than most of the smartphones that are marketed in the same price bracket. The U Play sports the same metallic liquid surface form factor that can be found on the U Ultra and the body fits perfectly with the U Play’s 5.2-inch display.

It is hard for companies to contain unwanted leaks being exposed to the public but HTC has managed to do it. HTC has kept one feature of the U11 a secret until now – its camera features. Although there were several leaks prior to the smartphone’s launch such as a squeezy interface, high-gloss glass back, a USB-C port rather than a headphone jack, the device’s camera features have only been unveiled yesterday.

HTC Desire 12 Plus Philippines: Specs, Release date, and News

HTC Desire 12 Plus Official: Packs Dual Cameras and an 18:9 Display

In March, HTC announced its two new phones – the Desire 12 and 12 Plus. The core version, the Desire 12, will have a smaller 5.5-inch display with a 32 GB built-in storage which can be expanded up to 2000 GB. The larger model, the Desire 12 Plus, on the other hand, will come with a bigger chassis and a 6-inch display that will be the best option for gaming and multimedia. Here are other things you can expect from the Desire 12 Plus.

Release Date and Price

HTC Desire 12 Plus’ pricing and availability are yet to be confirmed but rumors suggest that it will hit the store shelves sometime in May and will cost around PHP 15,000.

Glass and Metal Design

Design-wise, the HTC Desire 12 Plus is basically the upsized version of the core Desire 12, wielding an all-glass chassis with metallic accents on either side of the device. On its front panel, you will find an 8-MP sensor and a 6-inch screen with HD resolution. Much like the core version, the HTC Desire Plus’ screen comes with an 18:9 aspect ratio, which is now a popular trend among smartphones. On the back of the device, you will find dual (13 MP + 2 MP) cameras with a f/2.2 aperture.

720p Display

With its 18:9 aspect ratio, the HTC Desire 12’s display is near bezel-less, enhancing your viewing experience, apart from its large 6-inch screen. It has a 720p or HD resolution which offers twice the clarity of 480p-display phones. With this higher resolution, you can play mid-level mobile games seamlessly and stream videos with HD quality on the internet.

All-Day Battery Life

Besides the HD display, the HTC Desire 12 Plus will have a 2,965-mAh battery capacity which can last all day. With the device’s display settings, you can conserve battery life by lowering the resolution or putting the device in battery-saving mode.

Dual Cameras

The HTC Desire 12 Plus will have a dual camera setup in contrast to the core Desire 12’s single-camera unit on the back. There is a 13-MP unit plus a 2 MP unit for bokeh effects. What’s more, the Desire 12 Plus camera will come with autofocus and manual focus, as well as face detection features. You will get many different shooting modes including high dynamic range mode (HDR), burst mode, panorama, and a lot of other effects. Meanwhile, the HTC Desire 12’s front shooter will feature an 8-MP unit that can provide decent selfies.

Snapdragon 450 Chip

Compared to the Desire 12, the 12 Plus contains a more advanced Snapdragon 450 chip, which is better than those found in popular handsets like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A and the Oppo A57. When it comes to the storage capacity, the Desire 12 Plus offers one storage variant – 32 GB which can be expanded up to 400 GB via a microSD card. With this amount of storage space, you can download lots of files and videos from the internet!
