Huawei P20 Lite Philippines: A Premium Phone For a Budget-Friendly Price
The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro are definitely among the latest flagship mobile phones you should ever consider buying. But if your budget is slightly out of your range, you might want to check out the Huawei P20 Lite that offers some of the features of the former. Much like its siblings, the P20 Lite has a notch at the top, screen-to-body ratio of 80%, and facial recognition feature – all for a budget-friendly price, making it a solid mid-range phone. Here’s a rundown of Huawei P20 specs, availability, and price.
It’s Currently Available!
The Huawei P20 Lite was launched in the Philippines on April 28, 2018. Currently, it’s listed in Huawei’s website and online shops nationwide, with a price of around PHP 15,900.
Much like the other P20 mobile phones, the P20 Lite looks great and boasts polished corners and the notch at the top of the display. It has a dimension of 71.2 x 7.4 x 148.6mm, which means it is a moderate-sized phone but still compact enough to slip in the pocket. On the back, you’ll find an all-glass exterior with the fingerprint sensor and primary camera slightly sticking out. There is a headphone jack at the bottom, so you can pull it out from your pocket the right way up easily.
Decent Processor for the Price
The P20 Lite houses a mid-range Kirin 659 chip under its hood, similar to the Huawei Nova 2 and Honor 9 Lite. Performance-wise, it’s on par with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 that is used in many mid-range mobile phones. The P20 Lite is also equipped with 64GB of onboard storage and 4 GB of RAM, making it a decent device for its price point. You can even upgrade its internal storage up to 256 GB using a micro SD card.
Dual Cameras and Facial Recognition
If you like shooting portrait images with a bokeh effect, the Huawei P20 Lite’s dual cameras get the job done. The device boasts two sensors – one is 16 MP and the other is 2 MP, with apertures of f/2.2 and f/2.4, respectively. Expect to produce great shots in good lighting conditions and decent images in dim settings. Meanwhile, the P20 Lite’s front panel has a 16-MP sensor that offers impressive image quality for selfies. This front shooter also serves as a facial recognition feature, which is something you will only find on high-end mobile phones.
Latest Software and Interface
While Huawei phones are considered Android devices, they have their own customized interface which is called EMUI. The Huawei P20 Lite runs on Android 8.0 but has an EMUI 8.0 interface. Unlike stock Android, EMUI offers a lot of setting which you can adjust to your liking.
