Lenovo A-516 in The Philippines

Spawned as a low range phone in the Philippines smartphone market, the Lenovo A-516 is a tab above its class. Sporting features that capture your attention, the Lenovo A-516 will have you on your feet in no time. At first glance, you are greeted with a 4.5 inch LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16M colours. Pixel density comes in at 218ppi and colours are surprisingly vibrant considering its small size.

Lenovo A-516 on the inside

It’s not always what’s on the outside that matters, but what’s on the inside. The Lenovo A-516 has a dual SIM capability allowing you to customize usage. Running Android OS 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the Lenovo A-516 is exceptionally smooth. The Dual-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 processors works well on the Mediatek MT6572 chipset to give you speedy performance. It is recommended that you don’t use it for gaming though.

Storage features

As for storage, you get 4GB of internal space with 512MB RAM. External memory is available via microSD up to 32GB. Although this combination is not impressive on paper, the Lenovo A-516 does the job of storing necessary files such as photos and video.

The Lenovo A-516 only comes with a rear camera. The 5MP shooter is not all that bad when taking shots although you might want to leave the photos to a real camera. It comes with geo-tagging, panorama and smile detection features. On the bright side, using those features will come in handy sometimes.

A budget phone to consider

Whenever we shop for phones, we need to consider the reason behind getting the device. The Lenovo A-516 is one device which is good as a primary smartphone, but great as a secondary smartphone. It’s smaller size and minimalistic features allow you to save it for a rainy day. Perfect as a work phone, the Lenovo A-516 has the necessary tools such as SMS, email, MMS, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity. It’s not only smart, but overall a neat handphone to have with you wherever you go.

Lenovo might just be pushing too hard. They did not sell as much as they would have liked it. Though they have better quality on board than Micromax or Karbonn it just does not get good with the customers. We understand they wanted to make a mark in the m...
