LG G6 in the Philippines – A flagship smartphone worth the investment

Being the successor to the LG G5, the only similarity they bear is the name while everything on the LG G6 has been completely revamped.

Sleek, sturdy frame

Replaced with a sleek, sturdy frame compared to G5’s light, plasticky metal, it is no wonder that LG G6 was chosen as the flagship smartphone. The back panel of the smartphone utilises the Gorilla Glass 5 with a pane of Gorilla Glass 3 covering the screen. On top of that, there is a band of aluminium that encircles the phone. Now that the engineers decide to remove the slide-out battery mechanism, the LG G6 is IP68 dust and water resistant.

Improved viewing experience

Sporting an 18:9 aspect ratio display, it offers a great viewing experience that also comes with improved audio, video, and more. With its 5.7-inch IPS LCD running at 2,880 x 1,440, users get much more viewing space on the LG G6. It is also well-suited for those who enjoy multitasking. On top of that, the screen supports standards like Dolby Vision and HDR10 for more-vivid videos. Unfortunately, the only difficult part is looking for videos that actually takes full advantage of this feature.

Flexible photo options with the dual camera

The normal and wide-angle camera shoot at the same 13-megapixel resolution and this comes as an advantage as pictures turn out crisp without much fiddling. Nonetheless, there are still differences between the two cameras. For the main camera, it features the f/1.8 aperture, optical image stabilization, and phase-detection autofocus, all of which the wide-angle camera lacks. Thus, wide-angle night shoots are definitely out of the question as they will turn out fuzzy. On the plus side, go ahead and snap up photos during normal daylight conditions at it will capture crisp images with vibrant colours. Another advantageous feature of the camera is the instant preview of photos that remain on one side of the screen while retaining a live view on the other.

Quick charge with Qualcomm 3.0 tech

Neither small but neither is it massive, the 3,300 mAh battery on the LG G6 is actually larger compared to its competitors. Although quickly swapping batteries on this non-removable phone is not an option, the Qualcomm 3.0 tech helps to charge your phone in a jiffy. Certain models of the phone come with a built-in wireless charging support.

Stunning user interface

Running on Android 7.0 Nougat, the LG G6 is considerably the only smartphone from the brand that uses the latest version of UI. Natural and vivid colours can be seen throughout many of the apps with its set of wallpapers. You’ll notice a lot of LG’s apps feature a grid-like setup. This is due to the unique screen size where the interface can be divided into two grid squares. What makes the UI stand out a little bit more is LG’s update icons for better uniformity, background folders with rounded corners as well as minor touches here and there.
