LG L40 Philippines: A Budget-Friendly Surprise

A great phone doesn’t have to be pricey, nor does it have to be made of fine metal and glass like the recent flagships. What is important is that it should work and suffice your need for communication, gaming, etc. The LG L40, one of LG Philippines’ affordable flagships, doesn’t have the best specifications but it’s just as capable as LG’s high-end smartphones. It may appear too small and inexpensive in today’s smartphone standards, but do not let its size and price fool you of its capabilities.

Decent Hardware Performance

The LG L40’s sleek and sturdy body houses a decent Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chip clocked at 1.2 GHz. Along with a dual-core processor and an Adreno 302 GPU (Graphic Processing Unit), it is capable of running moderately demanding games such as Dead Trigger 2 and Sonic Dash. Although there may be limitations due to its small screen size, the L40 never disappoints in terms of its touchscreen responsiveness. Such feature improves the quality of gameplay by making it seamless and therefore resulting in a fun gaming experience. Aside from its decent gaming capabilities, the LG L40 can run important apps for communication such as Skype.

Attractive Display and Cover

The LG L40 is sought after for its smart and attractive design despite its humble specifications. The cover has a great feel due to its textured back and sleek display cover. Not to mention, its small dimensions and smooth rounded edges make it easy and wieldable. Apart from its well-designed outer casing, the LG L40 boasts a good display. Although it is not as impressive as high-end smartphones in terms of pixel resolution, the LG L40 is just as capable in terms screen brightness and illumination, making it suitable for outdoor use. For a budget phone, it harnesses the amazing IPS technology which is found in mid-tier and high range phones.

Satisfactory Multimedia Experience

Although the L40 lacks a front camera, it's passable rear camera makes up for its inadequacy. The back camera has a satisfactory resolution of 3 megapixels with auto-focus. The quality and lighting are better than most smartphones of its kind. With the L40’s small, light build and wieldable design comes easy video calls. You can also record videos up to 800x480 pixels, not bad for a low-end smartphone. All in all, the LG L40 is up to the mark in the multimedia department since it offers decent quality for videos and photos.
