Microsoft Office 2016 Philippines: Price, Specs, and Review

Microsoft Office 2016: Packed with new features

Apart from its computers and operating systems, Microsoft continues to refine its range of productivity software, such as the Office 2016. This version of Microsoft’s best-selling software comes with new incredible features and now focuses on collaborative working and document sharing. The Microsoft Word, for instance, now comes with a real-time collaboration similar to Google Docs. Aside from that, it has other improvements that will improve the user experience.

New Look

The Microsoft Office 2016 now offers a better styling, as the signature colors are displayed across the title bar. This is unlike the Office 2013 that harnessed the signature colors sparingly for each of its apps. The title bar also appears larger than in previous versions and can be customized by changing its colors. Other improvements that are also present in other office apps include the Share button which enables you to share your files with your One Drive contacts.

Collaborative work

With Microsoft focusing on sharing and collaboration, the Office 2016 now has a sharing button and collaboration tools onboard. While collaborative working has been included in the Office for some time, Microsoft made a move towards real-time collaboration, meaning multiple users can now edit documents or files at the same time, similar to Google Docs.

Excel Improvements

Aside from Word, Microsoft Excel also got many improvements such as the addition of new chart types including waterfall, treemaps, and sunbursts charts. Power Query is now enabled on the app, enabling for much simpler integration of live data from web pages and databases. Excel also comes with a forecasting option that will allow you to easily analyse your data and come up with predictions like future revenue growth. You can also save or edit other people’s work, as the Collaboration feature is also integrated into the application.

Outlook Improvements

Outlook 2016’s marquee feature is Groups which enables managers to make groups for themselves rather than having someone with IT expertise to get involved. Users can also create and manage groups and let their members share files, exchange notes, and chat together, similar to chat apps like Whatsapp and Google hangouts. There’s another new email filter which is called Clutter that will clear your inbox of unwanted emails. The filter has its own algorithm and predicts which emails are useful and not important to you.

Other improvements

Other Microsoft Office apps also got a few improvements. Powerpoint 2016, for instance, now offers an easier way to compare changes that other users have made to a presentation. With its new comparison tool, you’ll have the ability to choose which changes to save. Project 2016 now has a timeline that displays a range of timeline bars and the phases of a project by simply selecting the dates. And the Visio 2016 comes with a Quick Import tool that lets you easily set up the connection to Excel data designed to create diagrams.
