Nikon D850: A Well-Rounded DSLR Camera

The D850 is one of the most well-rounded cameras on the market today that can shoot amazing photos for landscapes, portraits, weddings, and much more. It comes with a sophisticated autofocus, clear viewfinder, massive battery life, and other nifty features that won’t leave you wanting.

Impressive Build Quality and Design

Housed in a durable magnesium alloy body, the Nikon D850 can stand up against the elements. Not only is it durable but also comes with intuitive buttons such as the ISO button that is situated behind the shutter button, making it easier for you to adjust in one hand. Another notable design feature on the Nikon D850 is the Autofocus joystick which allows you to quickly choose your preferred focus point. It is ergonomically positioned so you can easily reach it using your thumb. The AF joystick comes in handy if you don’t want to use the eight-way controller on the rear of the camera.

BSI and DX Crop Mode

The D850 has a full-frame back-illuminated sensor (BSI) with a 45.4-MP resolution which is an improvement over the Nikon D3300 and the D810. With the D850’s BSI design, you can take better shots in low light. You can also shoot your subjects at lower resolutions, 25.6 MP and 11.4 MP, and save them in raw or JPEG format. This feature is ideal for those who want to transmit images as quickly as possible. Another trick that the D850 has up its sleeve is the DX Crop Mode. With that, you can mask the perimeter of the viewfinder to provide a narrower field of view but expect the resolution to drop slightly. Nevertheless, the Nikon D850’s sensor comes with an excellent resolution so you can still capture images with great detail.

Excellent Autofocus

Nikon integrated a top-notch autofocus system into the D850, which is called the Multi-CAM 20K AF module. This comes with a whopping 153 AF points that allow the module to perform with remarkable precision. Not to mention, it has sensitivities of -3 EV and -4EV for the central AF point which should allow this Nikon camera to focus even in nearly dark environments. What’s more, the D850 has an incredibly fast focusing speed that is very convenient when shooting fast-moving subjects.

Outstanding Performance and Battery Life

Another reason why the Nikon D850 is an excellent camera is that it comes with an incredible burst shooting speed, providing at least 5fps which can go up to 9 fps if you attach the MB-D18 battery grip with an EN-EL18B battery. Speaking of the battery, the D850 has an EN-EL15 battery onboard which can deliver a whopping 1,840-shot life. Aside from that, it can manage to shoot at 6fps without the camera shutter sound through the Live View mode. If you need more speed, choose the DX crop mode in order to shoot images with at least 8.6-MP resolution at 30 fps.
