Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) Price and Specs in the Philippines

A Power Player in the Low-End Market

It cannot be denied that the Samsung Galaxy J1 is among the low-end devices if we base it in today’s standards, however, it’s such a surprise to have something so affordable yet very much capable of providing features and power beyond its price tag. Its onboard memory is 512MB, more than enough to run basic apps at the same time, in order to help you stay productive all throughout the day. The Samsung J1, despite being on the lower end of the spectrum, comes with a 1.2GHz Cortex A7 processor – a processor that’s almost equally as powerful as Apple’s iPhone 4S. Which means, for an entry-level device, it could easily run applications that were once limited to entry-level devices.

A Camera That Delivers

Who says you can’t get quality shots from a low-end phone’s camera? This Samsung phone will dump that myth, as its 5MP shooter could take photos with great clarity and perfect lighting. On the other hand, its 2MP selfie camera is also more than sufficient enough to capture those great selfie moments. Both the primary and front camera has face detection, and could record videos at 720p; video recording has never been this great for an entry-level mobile phone.

On the Go All Day Long

The Samsung Galaxy J1 is powered by a 1850mAh battery – a very hefty amount of juice for a small device. With that being said, the Samsung J1 could work its way from sun up until sun down with a single charge, with moderate use. This entry-level device holds a battery equally as hefty as the iPhone 6, however, the advantage of the Samsung J1 over the iPhone 6 is that it’s not as power hungry, which means its overall hardware doesn’t consume as much as the iPhone 6, not even half of it.

You Get More Than What You Paid For

It cannot be denied that this Samsung phone delivers more than what you’d expect from its price range, and most importantly from an entry-level mobile phone. If you’re on a limited budget and wants the best mobile phone for as less money as possible, get ready to be blown away by the Samsung Galaxy J1.

low performance in general, sometimes sluggish handling, no ambient light sensor, Android buttons not illuminated, low display resolution, cameras were not improved, only Android 5.1.1, no 5 GHz WLAN
Expensive entry. Samsung launches a 2016 update of its entry-level device Galaxy J1, but the price was increased. Samsung is once again not very generous in terms of features. Can the smartphone justify the additional price, or should you have a look at t...
