Sony Xperia XA1 Philippines: A Brilliant Camera Phone

Sony is a renowned brand when it comes to smartphones with brilliant cameras. One of their latest additions is the Xperia XA1 which is packed with a stunning rear camera and other features, all for a shoestring price tag.

Bezel-less Display

The Xperia XA1 comes with a 5-inch screen which seems to be a rarity these days as the smartphone market is teeming with 5.5-inch models. Despite the smaller display size, Sony narrowed the borders on both sides of the handset to give room for a wider screen, making it as visually appealing as possible. When it comes to the phone’s exterior, the XA1’s rear is topped with a plastic material, while its sides are made of metal. The right-hand side of the device comes with a power button, volume rocker, and a camera button; the latter also works as a reading light. Meanwhile, the Xperia XA1’s display has a decent 1280x720 pixel resolution. This allows you to view sharp text and high-resolution images.

Top-of-the-Line Camera

One of the most notable features of the XA1 is its 23-megapixel rear camera sensor. Together with the Exmor chip integrated into the device’s image sensor, the XA1 produces sharp and vibrantly colored images in daylight. The same can be said when shooting subjects in a low-light setting where the images appear blur-free and crisp. Moreover, the XA1’s 8 MP front-facing camera is good enough so you can upload images impressive enough for social media.

Decent Software and Hardware

The XA1 runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat that provides a better interface and new features like allowing you to hide and show notifications, notification badges from social media, etc. As for the hardware’s performance, the XA1 lets you open websites, run games, and load files pretty quickly. All thanks to its MediaTek MT6757 processor with 8 cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and 1.6 GHz. Also, the XA1 is packed with a 32 GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 256 GB via microSD. It features 3 GB of RAM, good enough to let you quickly switch apps.

All-Day Battery

Just like other mid-range devices, the XA1’s 2300 mAh battery is good enough to let you stream music and browse the web the entire day. If you want to extend the battery life by four times, you can set the XA1’s power setting to stamina mode. This feature cuts out background tasks of applications when you turn off your screen. It also blocks data traffic which is one the biggest factors that reduces the battery life in most smartphones.

Ordered online and arrived on time. The build is very geometric which coincides with the bezeless screen well. The camera is also great especially during speed and lowlight conditions.
