News about Sony Xperia XZ Pro

Sony is one of the manufacturers that got many mentions in this year’s Mobile World Congress for their flagship smartphones which includes the Sony Xperia XZs. After its big reveal, the flagship comes with a deluxe version, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium, which will be released this year. Sony is saving the premium version for a later release, while the Xperia XZs is already available for pre-order in Asian markets like India. Here are the features of this lite phone flagship from Sony.

Recently, Sony revealed that their focus is on the Xperia X lineup. However, they still have to dedicate time into manufacturing other devices such as the rumored Xperia C6. Renders of the rumored device have been floating all over the internet, displaying Sony’s signature outer body design that can be seen in their recent smartphone models. One leak that surfaced about the Xperia C6 shows a design that is similar to the renders that appeared in the previous months.

At long last, the much-awaited Android Nougat 7.0 update will makes its way for the venerable yet relevant Sony Xperia Z5. Despite being released nearly two years ago, the Sony Xperia Z5 is still going strong since its specs are not really that dated. It may prove to be a long wait but Sony has been one of the first manufacturers that has came forward to affirm its commitment in updating its large range of smartphones during the sudden release of Android 7.0 Nougat by Google. Recently, it has just released the Android Nougat update for Sony Xperia X, XZ, X Performance and X Compact. Next, it will be Sony Xperia Z5's turn.

Sony Xperia XZ Pro Philippines: Specs, Release Date, and News

Sony Xperia XZ Pro Could be a Departure from its Predecessors

At the Mobile World Congress 2018, Sony released important information about its two flagship devices – the Sony XZ2 and the Xperia XZ2 Compact. But they didn’t reveal any information regarding their third upcoming smartphone, the Sony Xperia XZ Pro. Sony aficionados in the Philippines are wondering if the company will release a third phone or not. But there are a lot of rumors floating around the internet regarding the said device, with the most reliable ones discussed below.

Release Date

Since the Sony Xperia XZ Pro wasn't revealed at the MWC 2018, it is believed that the alleged device will be released later this year. It might be released at IFA 2018 sometime in September. The reason behind its possible release at IFA is that Sony usually has a great presence at this event. At IFA 2017, Sony Xperia XZ1, XZ1 Compact, and XA1 Plus were launched.

Design and Display

Sony has incorporated the OmniBalance design into its new devices since the release of the Sony Xperia Z, which the company continues to do through the X series. But over the past few years, the designs of Sony Xperia phones have been changing but still maintain the same dimensions, so the change doesn’t appear drastic. As seen in some latest Sony Xperia mobile phones, they come with a bezel-less display, which the Xperia XZ Pro is likely to wield. It might also sport a 5.7-inch screen with a 4K OLED panel that is a first for the series. Dimension-wise, the Xperia XZ Pro is said to be smaller than the Xperia XZ Premium. Another thing fans can expect is that it won’t come with a 3.5-mm jack and a waterproofing protection of IP65/68.

Much like the Sony XZ2, it is expected that the XZ Pro will run the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip (or the Snapdragon 835) and will equip an Android 8.1 Oreo OS. It is also rumored to be equipped with a 64-GB internal storage, 6 GB of RAM, and a 3420 mAh battery. This is according to the Chinese leaker – MyDrivers. However, these internals should be taken with a pinch of salt since the leaked images that MyDrivers released are possibly made-up renders.

Since the Sony Xperia XZ2 didn’t come with a dual camera setup, this feature is rumored to be integrated into the XZ Pro. It’s expected to offer a better low light performance, as seen in many latest smartphones from Sony. Aside from the dual rear cameras (18 MP+12 MP), the XZ Pro might sport a 13-MP selfie snapper.
