Xiaomi Mi Max 2 New Color Variant Now Available In Hong Kong

Previously, Xiaomi officials tweeted about a new device coming soon but they did not confirm if it is the Redmi Note 4. But last year in November, the Redmi Note 4 was launched in China, and now starts selling in other countries like Nepal. Recently, Xiaomi just unveiled the device in India on May 16 and it has already sold over a million Redmi Note 4 units.

Xiaomi may have leaked Redmi Pro’s successor, the Redmi Pro 2, on their official website. Although they managed to take down the listing quickly, the hawk-eyed followers of the device already had gathered information on it. Based on the leak, the Redmi Pro 2 will sport a 5.5-inch AMOLED display and will house a whopping battery capacity of 4,100 mAh, which is a slight upgrade from its predecessor. It will wield a metallic body and a 2.5D screen with a curved glass surface.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro: An impressive budget mobile phone

With the impressive sales numbers of the Redmi Note 4 in India and other Asian countries, Xiaomi is determined to keep up the momentum with the Redmi Note 5 Pro. While it is tough to follow up on the Redmi Note 4’s success, Xiaomi has integrated a slew of nifty features into the Note 5 Pro such as an 18:9 screen, dual cameras, 20-MP selfie snapper, and a Snapdragon 636 processor, hoping to attract potential smartphone buyers. Here is a rundown of its price, specs, and release date.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro price and release date

Currently, the Xiaomi Note 5 Pro is available in India and retails at INR 13,999 (around PHP 10,900) for the 4-GB/6-GB model, while the 6-GB/64-GB variant is priced at INR 16,999 (around PHP 13,200). There hasn’t been any confirmation regarding Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro price and availability in the Philippines, but the core Redmi Note 5 was already launched in the country. It was made available right after the launch date through Xiaomi Philippines online and physical stores.

18:9 Full-HD display

With the Redmi Note 5 Pro’s budget price and 18:9 aspect ratio, Xiaomi made a foray into one of the major trends in smartphones these days in the budget and mid-range segment. The Redmi Note 5 Pro’s 18:9 display is coupled with design improvements such as the removal of the capacitive navigation buttons in exchange for on-screen keys and the ability to switch the orientations of the overview and rear buttons.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro is equipped with a 5.99-inch screen with thinner bezels than last year’s iteration, the Redmi Note 4. The display offers a 2160x1080 resolution similar to other mobile phones with 18:9 form factor. With the Redmi Note 5 Pro’s full-HD resolution and 403-pixel density, expect warm and sharp colors and stunning visuals.

Impressive processor for the price

The Xiaomi Note 5 Pro runs the Snapdragon 636 chip which features 8 cores – four of which are powered by ARM’s Cortex A73, allowing the device to deliver more processing power, while the rest are based on the ARM Cortex A53, making it energy-efficient. This mid-end processor with its impressive cores makes the Redmi Note 5 Pro one of the fastest mobile phones in the budget and mid-range segments. As for its GPU performance, the device can handle graphics-intensive mobile games, which was one of the limitations of the Redmi Note 4.

Dual camera setup

The Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with a similar dual-lens camera setup as the iPhone X. Despite its resemblance to the iPhone X, the 12-MP and 5-MP sensors on the back of the Redmi Note 5 can do an impressive job in optimal lighting conditions, providing plenty of detail and rich colors. Meanwhile, the 20-MP front shooter can take decent selfies which are not overly softened or overly detailed.
