A remake of the 1964 film Red Scarf, R2B delivers Top Gun-esque entertainment with Rain as the brash young pilot who is part of a unit that patrols the airspace between North and South Korea. One day, an unidentified fighter plane from North Korea crosses into South Korea and initiates combat over the city. Chow Yun Fat and Huang Xiaoming both propelled to super stardom in the role of Xu Wenqiang in different versions of The Bund, a story of loyalty and betrayal set in 1930s Shanghai and its criminal underworld. Now, the two generations of Xu Wenqiang return to Shanghai together in The Last Tycoon, a period epic from Hong Kong hitmaker Wong Jing (God of Gamblers) and producer Andrew Lau (Infernal Affairs). Loosely based on the life of notorious crime boss Du Yuesheng, The Last Tycoon traces two critical periods in the life of Cheng Daqi, a small-time fruit seller who climbs up the ranks of the Shanghai underworld and gets embroiled in the chaos of World War II.

In their first big-screen pairing, Huang and Chow both play Cheng at different periods of his life with Huang playing Daqi as the ambitious young gangster and Chow playing Daqi as the commanding crime lord. The powerful crime drama also co-stars Sammo Hung as Daqi's boss, Francis Ng as the conniving villain and Yolanda Yuan as Daqi's long-lost lover. In addition to the great screen chemistry between the star-studded cast, the film also features a beautiful recreation of 1930s Shanghai and explosive battle scenes that makes The Last Tycoon a grand gangland epic!

1913, Cheng Daqi (Huang Xiaoming) is a fruit seller who is framed for a crime he didn't commit. With the help of soldier Mao Zai (Francis Ng), Daqi escapes from jail and goes to Shanghai to start a new life. He eventually becomes a well-liked disciple of underworld tycoon Hong Shouting (Sammo Hung). Through Daqi's wits and courage, Hong comes to recognize him as a brother. In the late 1930s, Daqi (Chow Yun Fat) has become a respected figure in Shanghai. However, the invading Japanese army is looming on the city, while Mao Zai asks Daqi to investigate possible rebel spies working in Shanghai. In the process, he encounters Zhiqiu (Yolanda Yuan), a long-lost love from long ago.

Deltamac Whatcha Wearin'? (2012) (VCD) (English Subtitled) (Hong Kong Version)

First comes phone sex, then comes real love? Writer-director Byun Sung Hyun (The Beat Goes On) spices up the romantic comedy genre with Whatcha Wearin'?, a hilarious film that proves love can truly grow from the most unlikely of places. Kim Ah Joong (200 Pound Beauty) stars as a woman who makes a phone sex call to rescue her relationship, only to accidentally call a heartbroken man, played by Ji Sung (Protect the Boss). The result is a love story that only uses a lowbrow concept to explore the nature of modern relationships. An unlikely Christmas hit despite its adult-only rating, Whatcha Wearin' delighted Korean audiences with its brand of raunchy humor, sexy dialogue and a sweet, touching love story.

After discovering that his ex-girlfriend has already found a new boyfriend, Hyun Seung (Ji Sung) suffers an emotional breakdown. Just as he is ready to swear off love forever, he gets an anonymous phone sex call from a complete stranger. However, Yoon Jung (Kim Ah Joong), the girl on the other end of the line, discovers that she has called the wrong number and quickly hangs up. Stuck in a dead-end relationship with her boyfriend of five years, Yoon Jung was hoping the phone sex call would spice up their relationship. Instead, the call sets off a strange phone-based friendship with Hyun Seung that may turn into real love.

Deltamac Together (2012) (Blu-ray) (Hong Kong Version)
₱ 1,049.00
The director of hit television dramas like Love Contract and Marry Me, Hsu Chao Jen now makes his feature film debut with Together, a lighthearted romantic comedy about romances on the streets of Taipei. Together is a study on how the members of one Taipei family deal with commitment and the possibilities of new romances in their lives. The film steers away from the typical melodramatic tone of similar stories, taking a surprisingly light, down-to-earth approach to commitment phobia and infidelity. Together's ensemble cast is led by Kenny Bee (Eagle Shooting Heroes) and Li Lieh (Touch of the Light), two veteran actors who shine here as a married couple who may be on the brink of separation.

Min Min (Li Lieh) runs a juice stall in Taipei's Yongle Market. Her husband Bin (Kenny Bee) runs a small printing business in the neighborhood. Their daughter Hsiao Lan (Gina Lee) is dating a bad boy-type that keeps her out late at night, and their youngest son Hsiao Yang is helping his best friend get a date with a local caf girl. One day, neighborhood girl Hsiao Li (Sonia Sui) returns home and announces her engagement to a bookseller. However, Hsiao Li is getting cold feet about the marriage and starts spending time with Bin. Meanwhile, Min Min also finds herself growing closer to Hsiang (Umin Boya), the friendly owner of a dress-making shop in the market.

The women join regular Patrick Kong cast members Jacqueline Chong (S for Sex, S for Secrets) and Sammy Sum (The Best Plan is No Plan) for this creepy supernatural thriller about a game of Ouija that opens the door between the realms of the living and the dead.

Min (Jacqueline Chong, S For Sex, S For Secret) discovers that she's pregnant by boyfriend Lung (Sammy Sum, Lan Kwai Fong 2) but their situation isn't particularly joyful. Lung is not an ideal partner he routinely gambles away their money and can't finish the game app they're working on with friends Keung (Alan Luk) and Fun (Jumbo Tsang). Fortune arrives in the form of Auntie Lan (Paw Hee Ching), who hires Lung and friends to complete an Ouija board app and she's willing to pay them a cool HK$10 million to do it! But the project may be cursed, as evil spirits start to appear and the friends' luck turns sour. Who is the ghost with the grudge against them, and why does it want them dead?

Deltamac Knowing (VCD) (Hong Kong Version)
₱ 349.00
Knowing is a breathtaking and thought-provoking sci-fi thriller from acclaimed director Alex Proyas, who previously helmed I, Robot and Dark City, two important sci-fi films of the last two decades. His latest film stars Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage (National Treasure, Leaving Las Vegas) and Rose Byrne (28 Weeks Later, Sunshine) as two parents who desperately try to solve the mystery surrounding an end-of-the-world prophecy. But this is not your average apocalyptic scenario movie. Knowing delivers a tight-paced thrill ride with top-notch visual effects for the popcorn crowd, as well as a solid script that carries philosophical overtones for the contemplative audience. Set in Boston, the film opens in 1959 as a girl writes a page of numbers that hint at the disasters that would happen in the next 50 years. Cage plays John Koestler, a professor of astrophysics at MIT today, who discovers a pattern in the numbers. To his amazement, the numbers written half a century ago correctly predicted the major calamities that would take place, including the September 11 attack. What is more horrifying is that he finds the prophecy points to three disasters that are yet to happen, one of which may well spell doom for planet Earth...

Deltamac Invitation Only (VCD) (Hong Kong Version)
₱ 349.00
Taiwan Cinema's first stab at a slasher film, Invitation Only gleefully packs in the genre staples for a fast-paced splatterfest of blood, sex, and gore! New-generation director Kevin Ko made a splash back in 2004 when he was still a film student with his horror short Gui Yin. After a few years of indie shorts and industry dues, he returns to horror with his first feature film, using a Hostel-like premise as inspiration for extreme violence, inventive torture, and campy fun, with some twisted social commentary and gratuitous nudity thrown in for good measure. Eternal Summer heartthrob Bryant Chang and TV star Jerry Huang (My Best Pals) lead the cast, along with Julianne (The Hospital), Ma Kuo Hsien, Vivi Ho, Kao Ying Hsien (Lust, Caution), and AV actress Ozawa Maria in her steamy mainstream film debut.

Driver Wade (Bryant Chang) gets on the wrong side of his boss Yang (Jerry Huang), when he shows up late for work, and then walks in on Yang making love in the backseat with a model (Maria Ozawa). To keep his carouse a secret, Yang rewards Wade with an invitation to an exclusive party for the ultra rich. Posing as Yang's cousin, Wade gets all that he could ask for in one night, from hot sex to a free sports car, but then comes the real entertainment. Trapped in the building and separated from the crowd, Wade and a few other posing party-goers are suddenly viciously attacked by masked assailants. Running for their lives, Wade and the others get picked off, one by one, for viewing pleasure.

There was once a young girl named May (Xu Jiao) who felt alienated from everyone around her. May is worried about her mother (Rene Liu) and father (Harlem Yu), whose marriage is on the rocks, and she yearns to return to the woods where her grandfather (Kenneth Tsang) lives. One day, May befriends a boy (Eric Lin) as lonely as she is. When reality catches up, they run away to a beautiful world that belongs only to them. Both imaginatively escapist and heartbreakingly realistic, their journey speaks to kids and adults alike with the pain of solitude, the sorrow of loss, and the warmth of hope.

Based on Jimmy Liao's illustrated book, the fanciful coming-of-age film Starry Starry Night paints in vivid strokes the fears and fantasies of childhood. Winds of September director Tom Lin expands on the original story, while staying true to the sentiments and visuals of the book with splendid CG animation that brings alive Liao's imaginative world. As the teen leads, CJ7's Josie Xu Jiao and newcomer Eric Lin Hui Min take us back to a tender age when life is fragile yet full of wonder. Just like the heroine, audiences won't easily forget that summer back when, and its brightest, loneliest Starry Starry Night.

Korea's first 3D action blockbuster has arrived, and it's a monster one! Directed by Kim Ji Hoon (May 18) and produced by Yoon Je Kyun (Haeundae), the sci-fi action thriller Sector 7 revolves around an oil rig crew forced to battle a deadly creature at sea. The movie title refers to the setting, a real-life offshore joint development zone that harbors Korea's hopes of one day producing oil and becoming energy independent. But instead of petroleum, the crew discovers a monster. Ha Ji Won flexes her muscles as the tough heroine leading the fight for their lives in this exhilarating CG and action spectacle. Legendary actor Ahn Sung Ki, television heartthrob Oh Ji Ho (Chuno), Cha Ye Ryun (Little Black Dress), Song Sae Byuk (The Servant), Park Cheol Min (Cyrano Agency), Lee Han Wi (Officer of the Year), and Park Jung Hak (Bedevilled) make up the rest of the beleaguered crew.

Hae Joon (Ha Ji Won) works at an offshore rig in Sector 7, and her greatest dream is to find oil, an obsessive quest that has yielded no results. Hae Joon, along with a crew that includes Dong Soo (Oh Ji Ho) and ship captain Jung Man (Ahn Sung Ki), decide to conduct one last drilling before withdrawing as instructed. As they prepare for the final drill, things begin to go dreadfully wrong on the rig, and a crew member mysteriously dies. The crew soon realize there's something else on the oil rig, and it's looking for blood.
