Disney Disney Christmas Collection Box Set 6 Films DVD
₱ 705.00
Nzgameshop

Please note this is a region 2 DVD and will require a region 2 or region free DVD player in order to play Collection of six festive-themed family films. In 'The Santa Clause' (1994) Tim Allen stars as Scott Calvin, a cynical toy company executive who is forced to take over the job of Santa Claus when he and his son Charlie (Eric Lloyd) witness the previous incumbent falling off a roof. Soon Scott finds himself putting on weight, growing a white beard and fulfilling his obligation to deliver presents to all the children around the world. He even finds himself reluctantly getting into the spirit of things! 'A Christmas Carol' (2009), Robert Zemeckis's animated retelling of the classic novel by Charles Dickens, features the voice talent of Jim Carrey in the multiple roles of Ebenezer Scrooge and the three ghosts who haunt him. Old miser Scrooge is visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future who aim to rid him of his contempt of friendship, love and all things Christmas. In order to do so, the ghosts take him on a journey through time, opening his eyes to the truths he is yet to face and the consequences should he refuse to do so. But in the end it is up to old Scrooge himself to realise the emptiness of his existence and open up his heart before it is too late. The film also features the voices of Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Robin Wright Penn and Bob Hoskins. In 'Santa Buddies' (2009), an animated adventure from Disney's popular Buddies series, the puppies take a trip to the North Pole where they visit Santa (George Wendt)'s workshop. When they get there they discover that Christmas is losing its spirit but, with the help of Santa Paws (voice of Tom Bosley)'s son, the puppies work together to save the day. 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' (1993) is a stop-motion animated musical fantasy set in a parallel world where different lands represent different holiday periods. Our hero is Jack Skellington (voice of Chris Sarandon), a man from Halloween Town who becomes converted to Christmas and sets out to spread joy in the world. However, when Jack's new mission leads him to kidnap Santa (Ed Ivory), it becomes clear that he is not really in tune with the Yuletide spirit. The film was produced and visualised by Tim Burton. In 'The Muppet Christmas Carol' (1992) The Muppets present their own version of Dickens' tale about a bitter old miser who is shown the error of his ways. Ebenezer Scrooge (Michael Caine) is the antithesis of the Christmas spirit. The money lender tyrannises his employees, who include Bob Cratchit (a role assumed by Kermit the Frog - voice of Steve Whitmire), and is utterly dismissive when his eager nephew, Fred (Steven Mackintosh), comes to invite him to Christmas dinner. Indeed, the only reason Scrooge agrees to allow Bob to take Christmas Day off is that the lack of custom would mean it would be a waste of coal to heat the office. However, that night Scrooge is visited by a number of Christmas ghosts, played by Muppets including Statler (Jerry Nelson) and Waldorf (Dave Goelz), and he may well have a change of heart when he meets a sickly young boy... In 'Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas' (1999) Mickey (voice of Wayne Allwine) and Minnie (Russi Taylor) recall a magical Christmas when they each gave up something important for the other's sake, while Donald Duck (Tony Anselmo)'s nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie (also Taylor) remember when the festive holiday nearly turned into a disaster!

Disney Disney Beauty & The Beast DVD
₱ 821.00
Nzgameshop

Please note this is a region 2 DVD and will require a region 2 or region Free DVD Player in order to play The film that officially signalled Disney's animation renaissance and the only animated feature to receive a Best Picture Oscar nomination, Beauty and the Beast remains the yardstick by which all other animated films should be measured. It relates the story of Belle, a bookworm with a dotty inventor for a father; when he inadvertently offends the Beast (a prince whose heart is too hard to love anyone besides himself), Belle boldly takes her father's place, imprisoned in the Beast's gloomy mansion. Naturally, Belle teaches the Beast to love. What makes this such a dazzler, besides the amazingly accomplished animation and the winning coterie of supporting characters (the Beast's mansion is overrun by quipping, dancing household items) is the array of beautiful and hilarious songs by composer Alan Menken and the late, lamented lyricist Howard Ashman, (winning the 1991 Oscar for Best Song and Menken's score won a trophy as well). The downright funniest song is "Gaston"; a lout's paean to himself (including the immortal line, "I use antlers in all of my de-co-ra-ting"). "Be Our Guest" is transformed into an inspired Busby Berkeley homage. Since Ashman's passing, animated musicals haven't quite reached the same exhilarating level of wit, sophistication and pure joy. --David Kronke, Amazon On the Dvd: Beauty and the Beast's regular DVD release still offers some special features, but doesn't hold a candle to the Collector's Edition. The "making-of" featurette is informative charting the production from Walt Disney's original idea to the final musical version. "The Story Behind the Story" shows the origins of many of Disney's adapted fairy tales. The two games are fun, if a little slow to load. Celine Dion's original video is slightly on the dull side, but Jump 5's remixed version of "Tale as Old as Time" is just ridiculous. As always the sing-along track is great fun for all budding Belles or Beasts in the house. The transfer is as pristine as could be expected from a 1991 release. On the Dvd: Beauty and the Beast's two-disc Collector's Edition really is the stuff of fairy tales. Disc 1 has three versions of the movie, the best being the "Work in Progress" edition which offers the unfinished film, sketch lines and all. The theatrical cut has a pristine transfer and the sound is immaculate. The director's commentary relies on a lot on name-dropping and you'll find more interesting insight in the "making-of" feature on the second disc. The sing-a-long track (as with all Disney releases) is fantastic, particularly for such a well-loved score. Disc 2 is packed full of information, fun and games. The best of the informative features is "Animation Magic"; an intelligent look into the production of Disney cartoons. In the games section you'll need to head straight for the West Wing to continue an adventure with Chip (Tip: finish the game "Maurice's Workshop" first), but get your fingers warmed up as it needs a little remote control action. This disc only really falls down on the slowness of some of its games and the appalling remix video of "Tale as Old as Time". --Nikki Disney --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Tips on cleaning your CDs, DVDs or Blu-Ray

Collecting discs may be a dying trade but there are a handful of people who still enjoy the novelty of physical discs. Whether you are purchasing discs for the quality or to support the movie, it is always necessary to maintain it with proper cleaning. Here are a few tips on cleaning you CDs, DVDs or Blu-Ray.

Cleaning tools

It is recommended to utilize a microfiber cleaning cloth or cotton on CDs and DVDs that are non-abrasive. This is because; CDs and DVDs are easily scratched which causes the data in it to become unreadable. For smudges, fingerprints or dirt, water is usually enough as a cleaning agent.

On the other hand, Bly-Ray discs can be simply cleaned with a soft cloth as it is less prone to data being unreadable due to scratches as it has a harder coating. If you would like a more a thorough cleaning, a mild detergent can be used as well.

Cleaning the discs

Once you have prepared the necessary cleaning tools, it is important for the discs to be cleaned in a certain pattern. It is always advisable to avoid holding the discs on the playing surface as it may cause further smudges and damage. Properly hold the disc from the outer edges by placing your index finger in the middle ring and thumb on the outer ring. If you decide to use detergent, always avoid spraying directly onto the disc. Instead, you should spray it on a cloth before cleaning the disc.

There is a specific pattern of cleaning the disc to prevent any further damages to it. Rather than moving the cloth in circular patterns, wipe the disc from the centre first while moving towards the outer edges. As for Blu-ray discs, it should also never be wiped in circular patterns.

Drying and maintaining the discs

After cleaning your discs, it is time to dry it before placing it back into the casing. Whether if you are using water or detergent, it is important to wipe off the cleaning agent from the surface of the discs with a dry cloth. If you feel that your discs are still not clean, you may repeat the process until it is thoroughly cleaned. Once you are satisfied with how the disc looks, it is crucial that it is completely dried before attempting to place it in the disc player or any electronic devices. To safely store your discs, place them on a rack with their original casings. Over time your discs may accumulate dust and other debris, so it is advisable to routinely clean it. This is because; if you maintain your disc every so often, it can last for a very long time.

Other than collecting movie discs, you can explore other hobbies such as collecting books, learning how to play a musical instrument and much more.
