₱ 2,041.00
Galleon

Brain and mental function numerous clinical studies have been published on ginkgo biloba extract. Much of this extensive research deals with ginkgo's beneficial effects on the brain and mental function. Supports circulation foremost among its actions, ginkgo biloba extract supports circulatory function in the brain and also in the extremities. Enhanced blood flow to the brain means better delivery of oxygen and nutrients. Many observed benefits the clinically observed benefits of ginkgo biloba extract include improved short-term memory, and a positive effect on mood, sociability, thinking ability and hearing. Powerful antioxidant ginkgo biloba extract is a powerful antioxidant. Acting as free-radical scavengers, ginkgo's flavone glycosides help prevent damaging peroxidation of cell membrane lipid components. Platelet activating factor (PAF) the ginkgolides have been shown to inhibit platelet activating factor (PAF). Controlling PAF reduces clumping of blood platelets and improves circulatory health. Oxygen delivery by maintaining blood flow in the extremities, ginkgo biloba extract supports oxygen delivery to tissues and promotes ability to walk without discomfort. Discussion ginkgo biloba extracts rank high among the most popular herbal products in europe, where sales exceed $500 million annually. Ginkgo biloba extract is non-toxic, free of side effects, and safe for continuous use at the recommended intake level. Extra strength ginkgo extract should be taken for four weeks or more before results can be expected.

Doctor's Best Best Vitamin C 500mg, 120 Count
₱ 1,343.00
Galleon

Vitamin C is a key compound in the body’s “antioxidant network,” a chain of synergistic, inextricability linked, well-studied antioxidants that includes glutathione (GSH) and vitamin E. When vitamin E uses its antioxidant function in neutralizing free radicals, it also loses this antioxidant function. Vitamin C can change this status; it can regenerate vitamin E back to its native form, and is thought to “spare” glutathione in the body as well. Importantly, when ascorbate donates an electron and becomes itself oxidized, or “consumed,” the ascorbate radical is relatively harmless. In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study in which blood GSH was measured in healthy subjects at several stages, 500 mg of vitamin C taken daily for 2 weeks significantly raised erythrocyte (red blood cell) glutathione levels. The researchers concluded that vitamin C supplementation at that level can benefit the overall antioxidant capacity of the blood. In another study of similar design, 1000 mg of vitamin C taken daily for 4 weeks bolstered vitamin E and glutathione content in erythrocyte cell membranes, compared with placebo. The highest concentrations of vitamin C in the body are found in the central nervous system (in neurons of the brain & spinal cord) and the adrenal glands. Although the presence of ascorbate in neurons is in part explained by its neuromodulatory enzyme activity, its high concentration suggests that vitamin C is so greatly retained by neurons in order to address the higher rates of oxidative metabolism experienced by the brain. This has led to the conclusion that under normal conditions, vitamin C helps safeguard the integrity of neurons (and therefore the brain), largely through neutralization of the free radicals of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Low levels of blood vitamin C and the resulting accumulation of ROS are thought to be detrimental—especially to aging populations.

Doctor's Best NAC Detox Regulators with Seleno Excell, Non-GMO, Vegetarian, Gluten Free, Soy Free, 60 Veggie Caps
₱ 719.00
Galleon

NAC supports numerous detox functions NAC's detox value is grounded in its rapid conversion to cysteine that protects the blood and body fluids; the cells' need for cysteine to make glutathione; and direct antitoxin effects by NAC itself. Supplies cysteine to make glutathione. Taken by mouth, NAC elevates cysteine in the blood. Cysteine is the predominant antitoxin and antioxidant of the blood and other body fluids. Taking NAC is actually a better way to get cysteine than cysteine itself (l-cysteine), which is too unstable to be used in dietary supplements. NAC's acetyl group keeps it stable for its absorption into the blood, then subsequently its acetyl group is removed (mostly by liver enzymes) and the molecule becomes cysteine. Cysteine may be a conditionally essential nutrient. The diet of some human populations may be relatively deficient in cysteine, and (beginning around the fourth decade of life) glutathione levels decline with age. A pioneering cysteine researcher (w. Droge) strongly advocated taking NAC to support healthy aging, suggesting "everybody is likely to experience a cysteine deficiency sooner or later." Sustains the body's glutathione status. Glutathione is the most highly concentrated antitoxin and antioxidant within human cells, and adequate glutathione is a must for good health. Glutathione is used to neutralize toxins, whether these originate outside the body or are naturally produced by the body. Healthy cells continually "top up" their glutathione stores by importing cysteine from the blood (not glutathione), then making new glutathione from scratch. The supply of cysteine is normally the limiting factor for the cells to make glutathione. Supplementing with NAC therefore helps sustain both cysteine levels in the blood, and glutathione levels inside the cells.

Doctor's Best 5-HTP, Non-GMO, Vegan, Gluten Free, Soy Free, 100 mg, 180 Veggie Caps
₱ 1,910.00
Galleon

5-HTP functions as the precursor for serotonin, a monoamine neurotransmitter found in the central nervous system (CNS) and some cells of the digestive tract. In the body, 5-HTP is formed by the addition of a hydroxyl group (-OH) to tryptophan, a reaction catalyzed by the enzyme tryptophan hydroxylase. This enzyme can be hindered by stress and conditions such as vitamin B6 deficiency, which is one reason B6 is included in this formula. Additionally, pyridoxal phosphate (vitamin B6) is necessary for 5-HTP to be converted to serotonin. Vitamin C participates in the conversion of tryptophan to 5-HTP and of tyrosine to norepinephrine, another important neurotransmitter. Synthesis of serotonin in the brain requires an adequate supply of either tryptophan or 5-HTP as precursors in the CNS. The supply of tryptophan available for conversion to 5-HTP depends on a number of factors, including the nutritional status of the individual and the competition between tryptophan and other amino acids for transport across the blood-brain barrier. Whereas tryptophan may be sidetracked into the production of niacin or protein, 5-HTP readily crosses the blood-brain barrier and becomes available for serotonin synthesis. Therefore, supplementation with 5-HTP is a more direct route to serotonin production. In contrast to tryptophan, orally consumed 5-HTP is readily absorbed by the mucosal cells of the gastrointestinal tract, with up to 70% then appearing in the bloodstream. The implications of possibly altering serotonin in this manner are significant: serotonergic neurons (nerve cells stimulated by serotonin) regulate sleep, appetite, nociception (the perception of pain), and aggressive behavior.
