Following the box office success of 2013's Finding Mr. Right, stars Tang Wei and Wu Xiubo and director Xue Xiaolu come together again for the romantic feature Book of Love, which proved to be another big hit. Spanning three continents, this brand new story of love and letters revolves around two people, half a world apart, serendipitously connected by Helene Hanff's classic novel 84, Charing Cross Road.

Jiao Ye (Tang Wei) is a sassy casino worker in Macau who longs for love, but has her hands full dealing with her father's leftover debt and her own gambling problem. Daniel (Wu Xiubo) is a commitment-averse real estate agent in Los Angeles who specializes in selling properties to wealthy Chinese. These two strangers on opposite sides of the world each happen to acquire a copy of 84, Charing Cross Road, and blame their recent bad luck on the book. On a whim, both Jiao Ye and Daniel decide to get rid of the book by sending it to 84 Charing Cross Road in London. However, Mr. Thomas, the shopkeeper at 84 Charing Cross Road, swaps their books and sends them back. Surprised to receive another copy of the book back, Jiao Ye and Daniel reply through letter and Mr. Thomas forwards their correspondence to each other. Thus begins a pen-pal relationship that starts out testy but comes to hold increasing meaning as they gradually fall in love without ever having met each other.

After tackling genres like dark comedy and even family melodrama, director Pang Ho Cheung further extends the range of his filmography with the controversial slasher thriller Dream Home, also the explosive debut of 852 Films, founded by actress Josie Ho, actor-musician Conroy Chan, and Andrew Ooi. As co-producer and star, Ho takes on the role of a lifetime as a woman who will do just about anything to get her hands on her dream property. Pang - who co-write the script with Derek Tsang and Jimmy Wan (Isabella) - cleverly breaks the story into fragments, inserting calm scenes of drama in between disturbing sequences of bloody carnage. Filled with disembowelments, slicing, and more ways of using household products than anyone would care to know, the film's extreme violence is so intense that walkouts and faintings have been reported at screenings around the world. However, Dream Home is more than just blood and guts. Chronicling the frustrations of an average Hong Kong citizen trying to own a home in the city's out-of-control real estate market, Dream Home is as much an extremely dark comedy as it is an angry indictment of contemporary Hong Kong.

On a quiet night, a woman breaks into the prestigious No. 1 Victoria Bay residential building and brutally murders its security guard. The ensuing flashbacks reveal that the woman is Sheung (Josie Ho), an average white-collar worker trying to save money for a unit in No. 1 Victoria Bay, despite her father's illness and the lack of support from her married boyfriend (Eason Chan). However, in a city where real estate prices continue to rise at an out-of-control pace, Sheung's opportunity is taken away by her unit's money-hungry owners. Determined to get her dream home, Sheung is forced to secure her home via the most extreme way possible - by murdering those that live near the flat (played by Michelle Ye, Sin Lap Man, Derek Tsang, Phat Chan, and Juno Mak).

This edition features the Hong Kong theatrical cut and comes with deleted scenes.

Titled after the Roland Barthes book, the directorial debut of Derek Tsang and Jimmy Wan (co-writers of Isabella and Dream Home) is comprised of four interconnected stories about love and lovers. From former lovers flirting dangerously with reunion to a laundry shop worker who fantasizes about her dreamy customer as a mannequin, the two writer-directors find their own twisted ways to explore the nature of love and its dire consequences with the support of producer Pang Ho Cheung. Daring to take the risk with the two young directors is an ensemble cast that includes Eason Chan, Karena Lam (July Rhapsody), Kay Tse (Love Connected), Mavis Fan (About Love), Eddie Peng (Hear Me), Jacky Heung (Ex), and Kit Chen.

In a crowded city like Hong Kong, former lovers often cross each other's path. One night, a former couple (Eason Chan and Karena Lam) reunites for one night as they talk about their past, their present, and the possibility of a future. Elsewhere in the city, a laundry shop girl (Kay Tse) has a crush on a customer (Eddie Peng), carrying on her days fantasizing about adventures with an inanimate version of him. Meanwhile, Po (Jacky Heung) runs into a childhood friend and reminisces about the days of him as a teenager (William Chan) and his own infatuation with his best friend's mother (Kit Chen). Back in the present, Po is contacted by a stranger (Mavis Fan) with a secret about two people they know very well

Curse of the Golden Flower is probably the most talked-about Chinese film of 2006. International star Chow Yun Fat returns to Chinese cinema to team up with Gong Li in a film directed by the famed Zhang Yimou, who continues in the period epic genre after Hero and House of Flying Daggers. In addition to these three big names, the film also features acclaimed Mainland actor Liu Ye and Taiwanese top singer Jay Chou in his first costume role. The extravagant palace and the omnipresent chrysanthemums give the film its dazzling colors, creating an unprecedented visual sumptuousness that is beyond astounding.

Turning Cao Yu's famous play Thunder Storm into an epic film, Curse of the Golden Flower details a complicated dispute that encompasses both familial and political dimensions. Patriarchal Emperor Ping (Chow Yun Fat) summons his second son, Prince Jie (Jay Chou), to return to the palace after his tour of duty defending the border. Meanwhile, Prince Xiang (Liu Ye) wants to hide his incestuous affair with his step-mother, Empress Phoenix (Gong Li). Spectacularly beautiful from the outside, the royal family is actually falling apart within the golden confines of the palace. The calculating Emperor Ping wants to slowly kill the Empress with help from the Imperial Physician (Ni Dahong) and his daughter (Li Man), but Phoenix is also trying to ally with Prince Jie to start a coup...

The film demonstrates how the hunger for power eventually distorts human nature and leads to shocking brutality. Filled with jaw-dropping fighting scenes and beautifully designed costumes and settings, Curse of the Golden Flower exhibits the full potential of the genre's aesthetics. Zhang Yimou uses the most exorbitant visual elements to narrate a thrilling story, in which the brightest colors come into contrast with the darkest acts that human beings are capable of.

"He was a wolf with the heart of a lamb. The world, however, is dominated by the wolves."

Arguably the most renowned warrior-general in ancient China, Guan Yu (a.k.a. Guan Yunchang, circa 160-220) is hailed for his unparalleled bravery and military might, and above all his supreme honor and loyalty, such that he is worshipped to this day as a folk deity among the Chinese people. In a film centering on this magnificent historical figure, there is hardly anyone more suitable to play the saintly Lord Guan than Donnie Yen (Ip Man), the hottest martial arts superstar in the world right now. Add to it Jiang Wen, the charismatic star-director of Chinese box-office megahit Let the Bullets Fly, in a powerful performance as the antagonistic warlord Cao Cao, and you've got the most anticipated historical action epic in recent memory.

Under the helm of Infernal Affairs writer-directors Alan Mak and Felix Chong, The Lost Bladesman is a riveting retelling of a chapter in the classical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms where Guan escorts his sworn brother's wives on a dangerous escape from enemy camp. By portraying Guan as a tragic hero, and reinventing Cao as the manipulative but visionary rival leader who, despite clashing ideologies, has the utmost respect and admiration for the noble warrior, the ambitious film offers rich character drama on top of the varied, spectacular fight scenes. Built around Donnie Yen who also serves as action director, the period blockbuster boasts a solid supporting cast that includes Betty Sun, Wang Bo Chieh, Alex Fong Chung Sun, Andy On, Shao Bing, Wang Xuebing, Nie Yuan, and Chin Siu Ho, besides the scene-stealing Jiang Wen.

In the final years of the Eastern Han dynasty, the Prime Minister Cao Cao (Jiang Wen) is so powerful that even the young Emperor (Wang Bo Chieh) is reduced to being his puppet. Still only a fledgling warlord, the Emperor's uncle and future Shu king Liu Bei (Alex Fong) is defeated in a battle by Cao's forces, leaving his sworn brother Guan Yu (Donnie Yen) with the duty to protect Liu's family who is held captive at Cao's camp. With his unwavering devotion to Liu, Guan resists Cao's every attempt at persuading him to join his cause, including a wicked plot exploiting Guan's secret crush on Liu's concubine-to-be Qilan (Betty Sun). Guan eventually sets out on a long and treacherous journey to be reunited with Liu, taking Qilan with him - but someone isn't about to let him walk away so easily! With wave after wave of killers ambushing him en route, Guan Yu is forced to unleash his deadly blade and slaughter his way out...

Hong Kong Version Blu-ray comes with these bonus features: making-of, trailers, photo gallery, and a character analysis by famous writer Chip Tsao.

"Let's get married, while we're still alive."

Zhang Ziyi and Aaron Kwok are a doomed couple in Love for Life, the third directorial feature from internationally renowned Chinese cinematographer Gu Changwei (Peacock, And the Spring Comes). Christopher Doyle takes Gu's place behind the camera to capture the lead pair sans their superstar glamor, most notably for Kwok as he goes all out to play an earthy country bumpkin. The heartfelt romance drama tackles the controversial issue of AIDS patients in rural China contracting the HIV virus via contaminated blood transfusion. Initially titled Till Death Do Us Part, the tragic love story co-stars Jiang Wenli (Farewell My Concubine), Pu Cunxin (Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon), and Wang Baoqiang (Mr. Tree), and features several real AIDS patients in supporting roles and big-name directors in cameos. Zhao Liang's documentary film Together was made as a companion piece to Gu's intense dramatic effort, both aimed at fighting the society's prejudice against the HIV-infected and increasing public awareness of the disease.

Set in a remote village in Mainland China during the 1990s, Love for Life centers on villager Deyi (Aaron Kwok), who used to lead a simple, harmonious life with his family. But his selfish elder brother Qiquan (Pu Cunxin), desperate to escape poverty, deals in the black market blood trade and persuades the villagers to sell their blood. An infectious and incurable "fever" epidemic soon breaks out, and the once peaceful village becomes plagued by fear, hatred, and suspicion. Driven by guilt, Qiquan's father Lao Zhuzhu rounds up the afflicted - Deyi included - and accommodates them in the deserted school as a temporary home. In that isolated community where conflicts and despair come unchecked, Deyi finds renewed passion for life when he meets fellow outcast Qinqin (Zhang Ziyi), the forsaken wife of his cousin. Fueled by mutual pity, the two tortured souls seek solace in each other, and decide to take their last chance at happiness while their days are numbered.

After Best Film, Best Screenwriter, and Best Actor awards at the 2006 European Film Awards 2006, The Lives of Others triumphed at the Oscars as well, winning for Best Foreign Film. The film touches upon the sensitive subject of East German secret police, known as the Stasi, and explores the inner struggle of a Stasi agent who is torn between his loyalty to the state and his conscience. The film also documents the cultural scene under the totalitarian regime, when all cultural practitioners were closely monitored. With its tension-filled drama and nuanced characterization, The Lives of Others no doubt deserves its success at the Academy Awards.

Ulrich Muhe, Best Actor winner at the European Film Awards for his performance in this film, stars as Stasi agent Gerd Wiesler. Commissioned by his chief to monitor playwright Georg Dreyman (Sebastian Koch) and his actress lover Christa-Maria Sieland (Martina Gedeck), he installs microphones all over Dreyman's apartment to record their conversations and anything happening inside. However, Wiesler soon finds out the real reason behind his chief's order to spy on Dreyman, and he starts to empathize with the writer and his girlfriend...

Anthony Hopkins (Best Actor Oscar Winner for The Silence of the Lambs) faces off against Ryan Gosling (Best Actor Oscar Nominee for Half Nelson in the tense courtroom thriller Fracture. Wealthy structural engineer Ted Crawford (Anthony Hopkins) shoots his adulterous wife (Embeth Davidtz), placing her in a coma. The case seems open-and-shut, and Crawford even signs a confession, and refuses a defense lawyer, choosing to represent himself at a rushed criminal trial which he himself requests. Ladder-climbing Assistant District Attorney Willy Beachum (Ryan Gosling) thinks the case will be a cakewalk, and plans to use it as another feather in his cap. But what Beachum doesn't know is that Crawford is more manipulative than he ever could have imagined; Crawford is brilliant and coldly decisive, and the cat-and-mouse game that slowly develops between the two ultimately strains Beachum to the breaking point. Anthony Hopkins is at his most charmingly amoral as Ted Crawford, creating a character that nearly lives up to his iconic turn as Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs. Director Gregory Hoblit (Primal Fear) delivers crackling suspense with this riveting, twist-laden thriller.

Based on the same-titled 2000 animated feature, Blood revolves around a mysterious female slayer who battles hordes of vampires in postwar Japan. Billed under her English name Gianna, Jeon Ji Hyun dons the trademark pigtails and sailor suit uniform for a tough-as-nails turn as the katana-wielding heroine. Featuring impressive CG effects and sword and wirework action choreographed by Corey Yuen (Red Cliff), Blood: The Last Vampire presents a gritty, gothic world of fantastical adventure and thrilling action.

Though she looks like a teenage girl, Saya (Jeon Ji Hyun) has actually been hunting bloodsuckers for centuries. Allied with a top-secret government organization, Saya's only goal is to track down Onigen, the most powerful of all vampires. Her quest brings her to a US military airbase which has seen numerous vampire attacks. Saya goes undercover at the local high school to investigate, but all hell breaks loose when classmate and general's daughter Alice (Allison Miller) discovers her identity. Much blood is shed and vampires slayed as Saya's dark past is slowly revealed, bringing her closer than ever to Onigen.

Up-and-coming actors Nagayama Kento (Puzzle), Emoto Tokio (Homeless Chugakusei), Saito Yoshiki (Hinokio), and Sometani Shota (Pandora no Hako) join Aragaki in the bumbling quest to master the art of cheering in all its flag waving, drum beating, and choreographed chanting wonders!

Tales from the Dark 2 is the second part of the horror series based on writer Lilian Lee's best-selling novels. The sequel gives a bloodier and even spookier finish to the project, living up to its Category III rating. The finale follows the same structure as that of Tales from the Dark 1, featuring three short stories directed by Gordon Chan, Lawrence Lau and Teddy Robin.

In "Haunted Pillow," TVB starlet Fala Chen is still obsessed with her lover (Gordon Lam) after their breakup and invariably suffers from insomnia. She gets hold of a Chinese herbal pillow that eventually helps her fall asleep again but it also draws her near something unexpected. "Hide And Seek" casts a group of young newcomers into an abandoned school campus where they meet longtime janitor Mr. Chan (Lai Hon Taz) who takes shelter at the school. Playing hide-and-seek after midnight, the teenagers go missing, one after another. In his self-directed piece "Black Umbrella," Teddy Robin makes solving conflicts on the street at night his mission and marks each closed case with his signature black umbrella. Before he calls it a day, he meets a prostitute (Aliza Mo Mo, Due West: Our Sex Journey) who forcefully pulls him upstairs for business and unfortunately things spiral out of control.

Johnnie To teams up with Sylvia Chang to bring the latter's play to the big screen in Office! In 2008, Chang and stage director Edward Lam debuted Design for Living in Shenzhen. Written by and starring Chang herself, the play went on to run another 82 shows to massive acclaim. Towards the end of its run, Chang began bouncing around the idea of adapting the script to film as a musical, and the wheels were set in motion when To expressed interest in directing. The partners then assembled a truly star-studded cast in Eason Chan, Chow Yun Fat and Tang Wei, as well as newcomers Wang Zi Yi and Lang Yue Ting. For the all-important music, Chang and To enlisted the efforts of the iconic Luo Dayou.

Lee Seung (Wang Zi Yi), newly hired at Jones & Sunn, enters the billion-dollar company with all the hope and bright-eyed idealism youth affords. However, he soon finds that this new world is much more complicated than he first thought, with a myriad of illicit relationships, including one between the company chairman (Chow Yun Fat) and the CEO (Sylvia Chang), and the cutthroat world of finance laid bare before his eyes as Jones & Sunn prepares to go public.

Filmmaker Kim Dae Sung, who would go on to helm 2005's Blood Rain, makes his feature length directorial debut with an unconventional love story that boasts an even more unconventional title, Bungee Jumping Of Their Own! The film begins in 1983, when university student Seo In Woo (Lee Byung Hun, from A Bittersweet Life and Everybody Has Secrets) falls in love with In Tae Hee (the late Lee Eun Joo, from Taegukgi and Lover's Concerto) a young woman with whom he shares his umbrella during a rainstorm. Their blossoming relationship is shown incrementally, in ways that accentuate the comedy of their situation, while at the same time conveying a sense that the two share a deep bond, one that will later prove pivotal to the story's outcome.

After learning that In Woo must leave for his compulsory two year service in the military, the film flashes forward seventeen years to find that the young man has now matured into a confident high school teacher. But as the film slowly reveals, he is married not to Tae Hee, but to another woman. It seems Tae Hee died some seventeen years ago, and through a series of clues, In Woo begins to suspect that a teenage boy named Lim Hyeon Bin (Yeo Hyun Soo, from Holiday and Birth of a Man) is the reincarnation of the girl he loved all those many years ago. Despite being a heterosexual, In Woo begins to fall in love with the student, discovering that true love really has no boundaries. A romantic melodrama at its finest, this brave, deceptively transgressive film handles its tricky subject matter with sparkling grace, culminating in a dark finale that is both tragic and transcendent.

Before 2005's Sympathy for Lady Vengeance and 2003's Old Boy, there was Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, filmmaker Park Chan-Wook's startling first installment in what would later become known as the director's "Vengeance Trilogy." Released in 2002, the film kicks off by detailing the plight of Ryu (Shin Ha-Kyun), a green-haired deaf mute who dutifully cares for his ailing elder sister. Without the proper medical attention, however she is bound to die of kidney failure, and since there's no suitable donor in sight, Ryu decides to turn to the black market for help, selling his kidney in exchange for a fresh one for his sister. Sadly, when Ryu awakens from the surgery, he learns that he's been swindled not only out of his life savings, but his kidney as well! Even worse, he soon learns from the doctors that a donor has been found, and that all he needs to do is put up the money for the transplant!

With no legal way to come up with the cash, Ryu and his girlfriend Cha Yeong-Mi (Bae Doo-Na), decide to abduct the daughter of Park Dong-Jin (Song Kang-Ho), a wealthy industrialist and Ryu's former boss. The plan is simple: hold her hostage until Dong-Jin pays the ransom. And things seem to be going smoothly, that is - until a fatal accident turns this "simple plan" into an all-out nightmare for Ryu and Yeong Mi. Little did they expect that their scheme would go so very, very wrong and cause a seemingly normal man to spin out of control, blazing a trail of vengeance from which neither party may survive!

Edko Films Ltd. Too Young To Die (VCD) (Hong Kong Version)

Being invited to Cannes and the Venice Film Festival, The 2002 Korean docudrama "Too Young to Die" shocks all with a real story about an ageing couple Park Chi-gyu and Lee Sun-ye. Their youthfulness, the powerful feelings they cherish for each other and not lastly their unusually active sex life are all explored in this controversial movie without reservation.

Director Park Jin-pyo first met the 73-year-old Park Chi-gyu and his 72-year-old partner Lee Sun-ye while making a TV documentary last year. Struck by their youthfulness, the strength of their feelings for each other and, not least, by their remarkably active sex life, he proposed filming this docu-drama, in which they re-enact their first meeting, their current lives together and the high and low points of their relationship. The film (shot as simply as possible on DV) deliberately avoids going into their personal histories and backgrounds (both have outlived their spouses and both have grandchildren), the better to focus on their intense commitment to each other and their fears of being apart. Only one episode in the film is pure documentary: the sequence at a folk-song competition, which they win with a performance of "The Song of Youth". But all of it feels entirely truthful, including the charmingly uninhibited scenes on the futon.

Based on the true story of the E-Land Mart strike, Cart follows a group of female contract workers who band together to fight for their rights when they get unfairly laid off from their jobs. Female director Boo Ji Young (Sisters on the Road) brings together an award-winning lineup of actresses Yeom Jung Ah (A Tale of Two Sisters), Moon Jung Hee (Hide and Seek), Kim Young Ae (The Attorney) and Chun Woo Hee (Han Gong Ju) for this empathetic drama about labor activism and its effects on the women's lives and families. Cart also co-stars Kim Kang Woo (Tabloid Truth) as a mart supervisor who supports the women's cause and EXO's D.O (It's Okay, That's Love) as Yeom Jung Ah's teenage son.

Working mother of two Sun Hee (Yeom Jung Ah) is a model employee at the large discount mart she works for, and has been promised promotion to full-time status. Before the promotion comes through, however, she and the other female contract workers, many of whom depend on the job for livelihood, are suddenly informed that their contracts have been terminated early. They form a union and attempt to negotiate, but management refuses to even acknowledge them. To make their voices heard, the women stage a sitdown strike and take over the mart in what will be the beginning of a long and grueling fight with the company.
