Established on 20th June 1935, FUJITSU is the second oldest IT-based company after IBM. The company started off with the name of Fuji Telecommunications Equipment Manufacturing, a spin-off of the Fuji Electric Company. It was a joint-venture between the Furukawa Electric Company and the German conglomerate Siemens.
Japan’s first manufactured computer, the FACOM 100, was made by FUJITSU in 1954 and later launched the transistorized FACOM 222 in 1961.
