Audrey won the best actress as Princess Ann in 1953’s Roman Holiday and asked Givenchy to alter one of her costume from the film for the red carpet.

Givenchy’s next great idea for Audrey was a super-modern tea length wedding dress for Audrey’s fashionable character, Jo Stockton which became an overnight sensation as soon as the movie was out. It was said that the shape of the dress was super famous for wedding back in the 50s.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s, 1961
Holly Golightly’s little black dress was a sensation and became one of Hollywood’s most famous icons. This look created many different LBDs and the accessories on Audrey’s character, oversized sunnies, strings of pearls and elbow length black silk gloves was the new definition of chic.
How to Steal a Million, 1966
Givenchy was given $30, 000 by Paramount Pictures to design costumes for Audrey’s character. He then did magic by creating the perfect 60’s mod look- little white dresses, round sunglasses and a plethoraof pillbox hats.
