He is a painter, fabulist, sculptor, inventor, philosopher, musician, physician, biologists, geographers, construction engineers and military engineers. His genius, perhaps higher than others, which makes him became a representation in the Renaissance. Leonardo has often been described as the type of polymathes, a man who has the "unquenchable curiosity" and "feverishly inventive imagination". He is widely considered to be one of the greatest painters so far and perhaps owns the most diverse talents. According to art historian Helen Gardner, the scope and depth of his interests were a precedent, "his mind and personality seem to as a superhuman, the man himself is mysterious and remote". Marco Rosci states that though there are many speculations about Leonardo, his vision of the world essentially is logical, not mysterious, and the empirical methods he employed were unusual in his time.

The ancient revelations have been restated here to meet contemporary requirements. The ancient seers presented Vedic Astrology under various assumptions and in allegorical and symbolic languages. They assumed polydimensional extension of human consciousness which was closely related with planetary impulses. Apart from the general approach to this ancient science, the study presents in depth the astrological description of the nature of man. It also provides deeper implications of various planetary combinations. Advanced practitioners as well as general readers will find the book informative, illuminating and highly rewarding.

Xuanzang (c. 602C664), was a Chinese Buddhist monk, scholar, traveler, and translator who described the interaction between China and India in the early Tang Dynasty. Born in Henan province in 602, in boyhood he took to reading religious books, including the Chinese classics and the writings of ancient sages. While residing in the city of Luoyang, Xuanzang entered Buddhist monkhood at the age of thirteen. Due to the political and social unrest caused by the fall of the Sui Dynasty, he went to Chengdu in Sichuan, where he was ordained at the age of twenty. He later traveled throughout China in search of sacring books of Buddhism. At length, he came to Chang'an, then under the peaceful rule of Emperor Taizong of Tang, Xuanzang developed the desire to visit India. He knew about Faxian's visit to India and, like him, was concerned about the incomplete and misinterpreted nature of the Buddhist scriptures that had reached China. He became famous for his seventeen-year overland journey to India, which is recorded in detail in the classic Chinese text Great Tang Records on the Western Regions, which in turn provided the inspiration for the novel Journey to the West written by Wu Cheng'en during the Ming Dynasty, around nine centuries after Xuanzang's death.

LTD Principles of Methodology
₱ 2,206.00 ₱ 2,451.00
Kobo

This book provides a comprehensive, accessible guide to social science methodology. In so doing, it establishes methodology as distinct from both methods and philosophy. Most existing textbooks deal with methods, or sound ways of collecting and analysing data to generate findings. In contrast, this innovative book shows how an understanding of methodology allows us to design research so that findings can be used to answer interesting research questions and to build and test theories. Most important things in social research (e.g, beliefs, institutions, interests, practices and social classes) cannot be observed directly. This book explains how empirical research can nevertheless be designed to make sound inferences about their nature, effects and significance. The authors examine what counts as good description, explanation and interpretation, and how they can be achieved by striking intelligent trade-offs between competing design virtues. Coverage includes: why methodology matters; what philosophical arguments show us about inference; competing virtues of good research design; purposes of theory, models and frameworks; forming researchable concepts and typologies; explaining and interpreting: inferring causation, meaning and significance; and combining explanation and interpretation. The book is essential reading for new researchers faced with the practical challenge of designing research. Extensive examples and exercises are provided, based on the authors' long experience of teaching methodology to multi-disciplinary groups. Perri 6 is Professor of Social Policy in the Graduate School in the College of Business, Law and Social Sciences at Nottingham Trent University. William Shakespeare (26 April 1564 (baptised) C 23 April 1616) was an English poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. He was often called England's national poet and the "Bard of Avon". His extant works, including some collaborations, consist of about 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and a few other verses, the authorship of some of which is uncertain. His plays had been translated into every major living languages and were performed more often than those of any other playwrights. Shakespeare was born and brought up in Stratford-upon-Avon. Shakespeare produced most of his known works between 1589 and 1613. His early plays were mainly comedies and histories, genres he raised to the peak of sophistication and artistry by the end of the 16th century. He then wrote mainly tragedies until about 1608, including Hamlet, King Lear, Othello, and Macbeth, considered some of the finest works in the English language. In his last phase, he wrote tragicomedies, also known as romances, and collaborated with other playwrights. Many of his plays were published in editions of varying quality and accuracy during his lifetime. Darwin Charles Robert Darwin, FRS (12 February 1809 C 19 April 1882) was an English naturalist and geologist, best known by his contributions on evolutionary theory. He established that all species of life had descended over time from common ancestors, and in a joint publication with Alfred Russel Wallace introduced his scientific theory that this branching pattern of evolution resulted from a process that he called natural selection, in which the struggle for existence had a similar effect to the artificial selection involved in selective breeding. Darwin published his theory of evolution with compelling evidence in his 1859 book On the Origin of Species, overcoming scientific rejection of earlier concepts of transmutation of species. By the 1870s the scientific community and many of the general publics had accepted evolution as a fact. In modified form, Darwin's scientific discovery was the unifying theory of the life sciences, explaining the diversity of life.
