The Black Knight Radium PSX Squash Racquet is an evolution of the popular Galaxy PS Squash Racquet. It features the same frame shape and size but weighs 140g with a fairly head light balance. The Radium is a solid racquet that will play fairly quickly due its head light balance. Its large 500 cm2 head helps produce power and also gives the racquet a nice large sweet spot making it fairly easy to play with. Black Knight Ion Radium PSX Squash Racquet Head Size: 500 cm2 Weight: 140 grams Dynamic Weight: 130 Rigidity Index: 92 Stiff The Black Knight Ion Radium PSX Features: Power Surge (PS) Nano Crystaline Technology (NCT) The Power of 6 The Ion series has been developed in collaboration with multiple British Open Champion David Palmer. The Ion racquets use Nano-Crystalline Technology (NCT) as an additive to the polymer structure of the graphite frame, for reinforcement at key stress points while allowing for finetuning of the weight and balance. The combination of NCT with the Ion frame geometry also effectively reduces frame distortion and torque for a larger sweetspot and greater control for hard hitters. The Power of 6 means that at each stage of development the frame was analyzed under stress at 6 key points, with the resulting data used to fine tune the model until the best performance results were achieved for the composition and geometry of the model.

Head Metallix 130 Squash Racket [Misc.]
₱ 9,066.00
Galleon
This squash racquet has everything you're looking for - Power, Maneuverability and Control. Featuring FlexpointTM construction and MetallixTM technology, this racquet will immediately have you hitting your best shots more often. HEAD MetallixTM: Made of a specially designed matrix of carbon fibers and a new crystalline metal alloy. This alloys grain size is 1,000 times smaller than that of a typical metal. The decreased grain size means increased performance, or, as the Hall-Petch Effect states: smaller grains = stronger material. The result is a lighter, stronger and more powerful racquet than ever before. Flexpoint Technology: Breaking the rules of traditional racquet design. Consumers have long been asking for more control in a racquet, now HEAD has the answer. Flexpoint, an exciting new technology that places two precisely engineered control holes in the racquet's head. These two newly designed holes, positioned at 3 and 9 o'clock on the racquet head, work together to bring power in control. The dimple is engineered to create flexibility by reducing beam height by a maximum of 25 %. The hole increases sectional flexibility up to 50%. The racquet forms a "cup" that surrounds the ball. Dwell time is increased and control is maximized. To visualize this, think of how your hand cups a ball. This cupping effect produces control like never before, with no loss of power. The end result? Unprecedented control with absolutely no loss of power. RACQUET COMES FACTORY STRUNG. NO COVER INCLUDED.

Things to Consider When Choosing a Squash Racquet

More and more people in the Philippines are getting into squash. The sport is played in tournaments for leisure purposes. In order to play the sport competitively and experience it fully, you should have all the right gear. One of the essential gear to have is a squash racquet. To help you choose a squash racquet that best suits you, here are things to consider when picking one.

Price range

If you are a beginner, there’s no need to get an expensive racket. Keep in mind that you will not undergo rigorous practice or games, so a cheap racket will suffice. Otherwise, you need an advanced racket if you play or practice more often. An advanced racket is costlier than beginner class types but if you don’t have enough budget, then you can go for one that is just right for your pocket. However, keep in mind that advanced class racquets will provide better performance.

Attributes

The weight, material, and balance are essential attributes to consider when looking for the best squash racquet. There’s no need to go in-depth to understand these parameters; getting the gist will suffice.

Weight

Squash racquets normally weigh between 120 grams and 200 grams. If you prefer a light racquet, then you must have enough budget since they are more expensive than others. They weigh around 120 to 140 grams and are made from high-quality materials that offer better performance, making them ideal for experienced players.

There are also racquets that weigh more than 180 grams which are suitable for beginners. The reason why heavy racquets are ideal for beginners is because the weight allows the player to have a better control and deliver powerful strikes. But if you want much better control, then go for a light racquet.

Racquets that weigh 140-180 grams are also for experienced players. This is because they don’t deliver enough power. So, you need to use your strength together with great control to hit the ball hard. That is why beginners have a hard time using medium-weight racquets. Also, they are costlier than heavy racquets.

All in all, if you are just starting to learn squash, then go first with a heavy racquet that has a cheap price tag. After you gained enough skill and experience, upgrade to medium-weight then lastly light racquets.

Material

Squash racquets come in various materials. There are aluminum types that are cheap and heavy. They weigh around 200 grams and are resistant to wear and tear, perfect for those who are still learning the sport. The only downside with aluminum racquets is that they generate vibrations when hitting the ball.

There are also graphite racquets that are lighter, making them an ideal choice for experienced players. But they can easily break if used carelessly. Some varieties, on the other hand, include titanium and carbon which make them tougher and more durable. So, if you are looking for a racquet that is light and tough at the same time, then a graphite racquet with titanium and carbon is your best bet.

Balance

This is about the racquet’s distribution of weight. It comes in three types: head heavy, head light, and evenly balanced. Keep in mind that there’s no right balance, it all depends on the player’s preference.

  • Head heavy - As the name suggests, the racquet’s weight is placed more on the head. With that, it allows the player to deliver more powerful strikes, however, it feels heavy in the hand.
  • Head light - Just like badminton racquets, there are also headlight squash racquets. With a headlight balance, the weight lies more on the handle which enables you to control the racquet better.
  • Evenly balanced - This should be your racquet if you prefer something in between head light and head heavy.
