Tissot Philippines - Innovators by Tradition

Some individuals might ask themselves, is adorning a watch really worth it with the existence of technology? Everyone has at least one (or more) mobile phones to tell them the time, not to mention their computer, tablets, or any other gadgets that they carry around these days. But with a Tissot watch, everyone will be transformed to be a true believer of wearing a watch. Founded in the early 1850s by Charles-Emile Tissot, this brand has been pioneering artisanship and innovation in the watch making industry, keeping true to their signature, ‘Innovators by Tradition’.

A brand that is proud of its heritage, Tissot’s home has always been in the Swiss watchmaking town of Le Locle in the Jura Mountains. Tissot’s greatest commitment is to make excellent accessible by designing a broader, more versatile range of high-quality watches at an amazing price that any other Swiss watch brands. If Tissot has been the missing part of an individual's life, then they should check out the Tissot T-Sport T-Tracx Men's Chronograph Watch and Tissot Men's T-Sport V8 Black Strap Chronograph Watch, two of their best designs ever created.

The Swiss watch brand had designed the dual-time-zone pocket watches. Following the Great Depression in 1930, Charles and Paul Tissot made a sales and manufacturing agreement with the Brandt brothers, the founders of Omega in Bienne. Both watch brands then formed the Société Suisse pour l’Industrie Horlogère (SSIH) holding and in that same year, Tissot also created the first anti-magnetic watch.

An innovative new product, the Tissot IDEA known as Astrolon was born in 1971, which is also the world's first watch with a plastic mechanical movement and case! The Astrolon will then inspire the Swatch watch that is now signature for its plastic frame. Moving on to the late ‘80s, Tissot continued to inspire in the watch design community by making conceptual watches out of wood, mother of pearl and granite.

On the BIG screens of Hollywood and the global sports arena

The Tissot T-Touch, featuring thermometers, barometers, and touch-sensitive compasses, was spotted on the big screens of Hollywood. With spy-like features, it was the perfect match for movies like Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life and "Mr. & Mrs. Smith." Angelina Jolie graced both the scenes and set with the Tissot ladies version of T-Touch. The T-Touch series is also one of the first functional touch-screen watches in the market at that time.

Being selected as Tissot’s first female sports brand ambassador since 2005 was definitely a great honor for NASCAR driver Danica Patrick. Born in 1982 in Beloit, Wisconsin and brought up in Illinois, Patrick had started her fast-paced sports career by attending go-karting lessons in Wisconsin when she was 10. She pursued the life of a racer and went to the IndyCar Formula in 2005. Patrick swoon the male-centered industry of racing with her capabilities right from the start in the highest American racing car class. In 2009, she beat her personal record and reached third placing in the Indianapolis 500, also the best finish ever achieved by a woman in the race. Patrick endorses the Tissot T-Race Danica Patrick Limited Edition 2014 and like the driver herself, a fine watch that represents the female power!
