A few days from now, Apple will announce the iPhone 9 – the device which the company skipped last year in favor of last year’s flagship – the iPhone X. While Apple hasn’t confirmed its official name yet, its pricing is estimated to be similar to the iPhone 8, based on the rumors that have been circulating on the internet since last year.
iPhone 9 Release Date
The iPhone 9 release date will be unveiled on September 12 during Apple’s iPhone Event at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California. Much like their previous releases, pre-orders are expected on a Friday, September 14, while the official release date may also take place on a Friday, one or two weeks after the event - September 21 or September 28. Needless to say, these are only guesstimates, as Apple might stagger pre-order and launch dates, such is the case for iPhone X and iPhone 5s.
iPhone 9 Price
While the iPhone 9 is expected to cost less than the iPhone X, it’s certainly not going to be a budget device. According to the research note issued by Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 9 price is projected to run around $600 (₱32,340) to $700 (₱37,774), which potentially puts it at the iPhone 8’s price range.
iPhone 9 Specs
The iPhone 9 may possibly sport an aluminum frame and come with a 6.1-inch TFT-LCD notched display, 3GB of RAM, 2850mAh battery, and a single rear camera.
iPhone XS and iPhone XS Plus
Aside from the iPhone 9, two new iPhone models are expected to be introduced during Apple’s September 12 event – the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Plus. Both of these rumored iPhone X successors will sport the same notch, with the former sporting a 5.8-inch display and the latter 6.5-inch. They are said to come with 4GB of RAM, dual-SIM option, and the new A12 processor.
While the iPhone 9’s price and specifications are not yet confirmed, we’ll find out about its official details, as well as for the two other rumored handsets, during Apple's iPhone event on September 12, so stay tuned!
