This February 25, Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will be officially released in Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona, Spain. Thanks to a plethora of leaks and rumors floating around the Internet since last year. Here’s what we can expect from the Galaxy S9 price, specifications, and features.

According to tech blogger Evleaks, pre-orders of the Samsung Galaxy S9 are set to open later on March 1 and the shipping is said to start two weeks later on March 16. When it comes to the Samsung Galaxy S9 price, it will be more expensive than last year’s iteration, with the entry-level model carrying a price point around PHP 50000.

Much like its previous iteration, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will wield the same metal and glass exterior. Both handsets will retain the Infinity Display with an aspect ratio of 18:5:9, slim bezels on the top and bottom, and bezel-less on the sides. As for the display size and resolution, the Galaxy S9 will sport a 5.8-inch screen with a QHD resolution, while the Plus model will come with a 6.2-inch display with similar resolution to the core version. In addition, the new Galaxy flagship smartphones will have no physical home button like its previous iteration.

Recently, the GeekBench scores for the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus have been leaked online, garnering a score of 9024 on multi-core and 3775 on single core. These scores could put the Galaxy S9 Plus above any flagship phones in the market, except for the Apple iPhone 8 series. As for the core version of the Galaxy S9, it garnered a score of 3648 on single core and 8894 on multi-core.

Major upgrades are also expected to the processors in the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+, with Samsung using the Exynos 9810 chip. When it comes to the internal storage, the new flagship phones will have a 64 GB capacity which can be expanded up to 400 GB through a micro SD card. There are some leaks online that revealed Samsung could launch a 512 GB storage model, which is a pretty unlikely prospect.

As Samsung’s latest flagship device, some major upgrades are expected to the Samsung Galaxy S9’s camera. First off, the dual rear camera will only be available to the Plus variant and Samsung will no longer implement the trend of sporting standard cameras on both models. The Galaxy S9 core version will be equipped with a 12-MP rear camera with two apertures: f/1.5 and f/2.4 to improve image quality in low light. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus will sport dual cameras – 12MP+12MP cameras on the back. In terms of the battery size, the Galaxy S9 core version will be housing a 3000 mAh battery, while the Plus variant will have a 3500 mAh battery.
