It may sound like clich , but Japanese people really do love their fish. If Japan has the best and freshest fish in the world, then Tokyo's Tsukiji Fish Market is where you're most likely to find them. It's the home of Japan's biggest daily fish auction, and it's a place of fierce competition between fish merchants that have been in the business for generations. The Taste of Fish puts this long-lasting business tradition on the big screen with the hopes of joining the ranks of the Tora-San and Fishing Fool's Diary films, both long-running Japanese film series about the various adventures of common folk. Based on a comic series, The Taste of Fish follows businessman Shuntaro (Osawa Takao), who has a successful career in a trading company and is in a steady relationship with girlfriend Asuka (Tanaka Rena). One day, Shuntaro has to help out at the fish wholesaler store run by Asuka's father, and he immediately falls in love with the world of Tsukiji Fish Market. Soon, Shuntaro quits his job and devotes all of his time to running the business while learning about the market's fascinating set of long-standing traditions. However, he must first also learn to distinguish the tastes of different fishes before he can survive in the competitive world of Tsukiji.

Prolific Hong Kong director Wong Jing takes the audience to a new kind of wild, wild west in the period wuxia comedy Treasure Inn. Wong's wuxia-style tribute to the Spaghetti Western genre features an action-packed battle of wits that breaks out over a priceless statue inside an isolated desert inn. Nicholas Tse and Nick Cheung, whose pairings in Beast Stalker and Stool Pigeon earned various acclaim and awards, finally find themselves on the same side of the law as two lowly police officers who become heroes. While Tse plays it cool as the straight-faced, heroic martial arts hero, Cheung returns to his comedic roots with a hilarious comic relief performance that steals every scene he's in. In addition to Twins' Charlene Choi, Crystal Huang (The Road Less Traveled), Tong Da Wei (Red Cliff), and Kenny Ho (The Storm Warriors) in supporting roles, Treasure Inn also boasts old-school martial arts action choreography by Corey Yuen (Shaolin). Young Master (Nicholas Tse) and Brad (Nick Cheung) are small-time cops with big dreams - to become members of the respected Gold Shield Constables. When a major murder-robbery case arrives on their doorsteps, their investigative skills raise the suspicions of investigator Captain Iron (Kenny Ho). Wrongfully imprisoned, Young Master and Brad escape execution thanks to the help of two beautiful swindlers (Crystal Huang and Charlene Choi). To retrieve the precious statue stolen from the murder scene and arrest the band of murderers, the heroes go to Treasure Inn, where they expect an annual auction of artifacts to attract the murders' mastermind. There, they meet inn owner Yue Linglong (Liu Yang), a mysterious scholar (Tong Da Wei), and other assorted shady characters that have arrived at the inn for the auction.

The tales of the heroic Yang family have been the stuff of legends. Spanning several generations, the Yangs' military exploits are considered the epitome of brotherhood, courage and loyalty to family. As a result, their stories have been adapted for many popular television series and films over the years, making them one of the most famous families in Chinese culture. The rescue of Yang Ye by his seven sons is now the subject of Saving General Yang, the latest film from director Ronny Yu (Bride with White Hair). The veteran Hong Kong director finally returns to filmmaking seven years after Fearless with this grand period epic produced by Ip Man producer Raymond Wong. No stranger to making action-packed blockbusters, Yu expertly stages exciting fight scenes (with the help of action choreographed by Stephen Tung) that complements the story's powerful emotions of sacrifice and family. From large-scale attacks involving boulders to a tense duel with arrows, the action scenes in Saving General Yang will leave audiences gasping for breath. Yu has also gathered a talented cast of male superstars to play the Yang warriors. In addition to Adam Cheng (Zu: The Warriors From Magic Mountain) as patriarch Yang Ye, the general's seven courageous sons are played by Ekin Cheng (Young and Dangerous), Raymond Lam (Sorcerer and the White Snake), Vic Chou (New Perfect Two), Wu Chun (My Kingdom), Fu Xinbo (Hot Summer Days) Yu Bo (Hotel Deluxe) and Li Chen (Aftershock). Saving General Yang is spectacular old-school action entertainment made for a new generation! When a rival nation sends troops to invade the Song Dynasty, the emperor sends general Yang Ye (Adam Cheng) to defend the nation. However, Yang's place in the court is shaky due to a feud with Pan Renmei caused by the accidental death of his son at the hands of one of Yang's sons. At the battle, Yang is abandoned by Pan's troops, leaving him trapped in the face of an attack by Yeli Yuan (Shao Bing), an enemy general who wants to kill Yang to avenge his father. After learning about their father's predicament, Yang Ye's seven sons set out to rescue their father at any cost. Blu-ray Edition comes with a special commemorative cover. On March 11, 2011, a powerful earthquake and the tsunami waves that followed killed tens of thousands of people in northeast Japan. Journalist Ishii Kota chronicled his ten days in the town of Kamaishi one of the hardest-hit areas in the disasters in his book Itai Shinsai, Tsunami of Hate ni. Writer-director Kimizuka Ryoichi (the Bayside Shakedown series, Nobody to Watch Over Me) recreates those ten days in Reunion. The film stars Nishida Toshiyuki (Ghost of a Chance, Outrage Beyond) as a retired funeral home employee who brought order to Kamaishi's temporary funeral home and helped families of the victims properly put their loved ones to rest. Proceeds from the film were donated to the recovery effort in the disaster zone. After the March 11th tsunami virtually wiped away half of Kamaishi, a temporary morgue was set up in a local gym to handle the dead. After the disaster, retired undertaker Chiba Atsushi (Nishida Toshiyuki) volunteered to take charge of the funeral home. Using his years of experience, Atsushi taught rescue workers to handle the bodies with care, arranged for the bodies to be presented in a respectable state to family members and spoke softly to them as he prepared them for their final journey into the crematorium. Soon, rescue workers, city employees and medical professionals working on the site were so touched by Atsushi's dedication to the cause that they eventually came together to lend a helping hand.

Cold and calm scientist Kagura Ryuhei (Ninomiya Kazunari) firmly believes in the infallibility of the DNA profiling system he's created. DNA doesn't lie. Through analysis of evidence found at a crime scene, he can reconstruct the physical and psychological profile of the criminal and identify the likely culprit by following the DNA trail. As the National Police Agency pushes forth a large-scale initiative to compile a database of everyone's DNA, a series of mysterious murders occur and the victims include Ryuhei's partner Saki (Mizuhara Kiko), an autistic savant who programmed the DNA profiling system. Evidence extracted from the crime scene, however, reveals the killer is... Ryuhei. The human whose name is written in this note shall die... Popular manga series Death Note first appeared in Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2003. With its anti-hero protagonist, dark psychological themes, innovative premise, and unpredictable plot twists, Death Note was an instant hit, amassing an avid readership in its three years of serialization. It was later published in a 12-volume set in multiple languages, selling 18 million copies worldwide. In summer 2006, the film version of Death Note, starring Fujiwara Tatsuya and Matsuyama Kenichi became a blockbuster success throughout Asia. Death god Ryuk has attracted much attention in the film. Nakamura Shidou's (Be with You) voice convincingly attributes a personality to this CG-generated character. Ryuk leaves his killing weapon, the Death Note, in the mortal world, just to see what will happen. As the instructions within the notebook clearly state, the human whose name is written in the notebook dies. Bright and restless student Light (Fujiwara Tatsuya) picks up the notebook, and soon realizes the power that has been bestowed upon him. He adopts the name Kira (Killer) and sets about ridding the world of criminals. His callous renegade justice, however, is not tolerated by the authorities. Faced with so many unexplained deaths, the police enlist the assistance of the young genius L, whose eccentricity is aptly portrayed by Matsuyama Kenichi. And so begins a dangerous battle of wits between the mysterious L and the increasingly calculating Light.

After his popular turn as Kaga on the two previous television adaptations, Abe Hiroshi plays the brilliant detective for the third time in Kirin. In addition to the return of regulars Mizobata Junpei (as Kaga's cousin/partner), Kuroki Meisa (as a local reporter), and Yamazaki Tsutomu (as Kaga's ailing father), Abe is also joined by a new supporting cast that includes Aragaki Yui (Hanamizuki), Tanaka Rena (The Tale of Genji), and Nakai Kiichi (Once in a Blue Moon). Kaga Kyoichiro (Abe Hiroshi) is brought in to investigate a case of a salaryman (Nakai Kiichi) found dead on Tokyo's Nihonbashi. After the man's co-worker was found hit by a truck after fleeing the crime scene, the police think that they have an open-and-shut case on their hands. However, the ever-observant Kaga thinks that there's more to what's on the surface and begins to investigate deeper, from the dead man's son to the suspect's girlfriend (Aragaki Yui). Fourteen years after July Rhapsody, Karena Lam and Jacky Cheung reunite onscreen in the drama Heaven in the Dark, which garnered both stars acting nominations at the Hong Kong Film Awards. Based on the 2005 Hong Kong stage play The French Kiss, the film is framed around a heated conversation between two people with conflicting memories of a past incident that greatly damaged their lives and faith. Heaven in the Dark marks the directorial debut of Karena Lam's husband, Steve Yuen Kim Wai, who previously directed commercials and music videos. Various well-known Hong Kong theater actors appear in the film including Chu Pak Him, Tyson Chak, Rosa Maria Velasco and Anthony Wong. Former pastor Marco (Jacky Cheung) and Michelle (Karena Lam) cross paths at a party, and there is clearly history between them. The former is a cynical, disillusioned shell of a man; the latter is a mother and pastor's wife. Both still deeply hurt by the past, the two confront each other, reopening old wounds in search for reason and remorse. Five years ago, the ambitious and charismatic Marco was a respected pastor and the head of a non-profit organization, two worlds that he tries to keep separate. However, Michelle, a new junior staff member at his NGO, breaks the rules and joins his church congregation. Drawn to each other, the two grow increasingly close until one drunken night, they share a kiss. Soon after, Michelle sues Marco for sexual harassment in a highly publicized case that would change both of their lives.

The superstar comedy stylings of Stephen Chow get a mega-workout in Tricky Brains, an early blockbuster hit starring Stephen Chow and Andy Lau! Stephen Chow is Jing Koo, the self-styled "Handsome Tricky Expert", who will gladly screw with you if it means a paycheck for himself. The payee is Macky (Waise Lee), who wants the handsome Kit (Andy Lau) out of the way so he can be made manager of the company. Jing Koo takes the job, and starts his con by fooling Kit's father (frequent Stephen Chow collaborator Richard Ng Man Tat) into thinking that he is, in fact, the long-lost half brother of Kit. Both Kit and his dad buy into Jing Koo's tricks, but their kindness is rough on the avowed trickster. Will he regret tricking Kit and his father? And will the office be reduced to a shambles once the "Handsome Tricky Expert" is done with them?Tricky Brains demonstrates Stephen Chow's snarky comic persona at its absolute best, meaning the master comedian spends all his time imposing his superiority over the less quick-witted folks around him. Jing Koo runs virtual rings around all his victims, which include sexy Chingmy Yau, and Rosamund Kwan as Kit's nominal love interest. Like other films directed by Wong Jing, Tricky Brains is a wacky joke-a-minute laffer full of movie parodies, sudden musical numbers, and enough silliness to fill ten other films. And like other Stephen Chow movies, Tricky Brains is one incredibly funny movie!

Japan's most famous public prosecutor is back! Popular Japanese TV and film franchise Hero returns to cinemas in 2015 with a new box office-topping mystery. First aired in 2001, Hero follows unorthodox public prosecutor Kuryu Kohei (Kimura Takuya). Known for eschewing the typical suit and tie in favor of jeans and an orange down jacket and impulsively purchasing infomercial gadgets, Kuryu's behavior often flummoxes his colleagues at a public prosecutor's office in Tokyo. However, his slacker appearance and attitude belie a brilliant investigative mind and compassionate heart, which help him crack one impossible case after another. Directed by Suzuki Masayuki and scripted by Fukuda Yasushi, both regulars of the series, the 2015 Hero feature film continues on from the 2014 television series. Besides Kimura Takuya, Kitagawa Keiko returns as his assistant, as do fellow prosecutors Sugimoto Tetta, Hamada Gaku and Yoshida Yo. Matsu Takako, who did not appear in the 2014 season, makes her return to the series after an eight-year absence. This time, Kuryu and his colleagues try to solve a case that is linked to a foreign embassy. However, their investigation is hampered by extraterritoriality.

Released in 1993, a year of peak production for Jet Li, Last Hero in China was Wong Jing's go at a story about one of the most loved folk heroes in Chinese history, Wong Fei Hung. By that time, Jet Li had already established himself as the definitive Wong Fei Hung of the early 90s, having starred as the martial artist and physician in four of Tsui Hark's Once Upon a Time in China films. As it's written and directed by Wong Jing, Last Hero in China has a decidedly lighter, more comedic tone than Jet Li's other outings as Wong Fei Hung, but, with Yuen Woo Ping as action choreographer, the film's action scenes are no less dynamic than those of its more sober cousins. Thanks to the bumbling efforts of his disciples So (Dicky Cheung) and Leung Fun (Bryan Leung), Wong Fei Hung returns to Guangdong after a stint in Hong Kong to find that his martial arts academy has moved to a new space right beside a brothel. Although he's worshipped as a hero by the brothel's owner (Nat Chan) and his sister (Anita Yuen), he has no time for them, as he uncovers a shocking human trafficking operation. While investigating, he encounters Tit Yin (Sharla Cheung) and her father, who've traveled from Sichuan to find her kidnapped sister. Together, the three delve deeper into the mystery, and discover that the person behind the whole human trafficking ring may be none other than the city's top government official, Lui Yat Siu (Alan Chui).

Matsuyama Kenichi turns on his strange charms for the quirky comedy Bare Essence of Life (a.k.a. Ultra Miracle Love Story). This oddball love story about a lovestruck, mentally challenged farmer is set in Aomori in Northern Japan, the native prefecture of both Matsuyama Kenichi and the film's director, up-and-coming female filmmaker Yokohama Satoko (German + Rain). Both bring a strong local flavor to the story, with Matsuyama speaking in Aomori's Tsugaru dialect for the entire film. The object of his affections is Aso Kumiko (Instant Swamp), who's known for playing offbeat roles herself. Far from a standard romance or comedy, Bare Essence of Life embraces its myriad eccentricities and peculiar protagonists with screwball energy and sincere gusto. Man-child Yojin (Matsuyama Kenichi) is easily distracted and has a hard time staying still or listening. Between running around and raising trouble, he devotes his greatest time and energy to maintaining his grandmother's vegetable garden. Meanwhile, kindergarten teacher Machiko (Aso Kumiko) has just moved from Tokyo to rural Aomori in hopes of putting past ghosts to rest. When Yojin meets Machiko, it's love at first sight, and he won't have it any other way.

The acclaimed 2008 crime thriller The Beast Stalker solidified director Dante Lam's status as the new king of Hong Kong action cinema. He and his writer Jack Ng return two years later on the thematic follow-up The Stool Pigeon, which again delivers in the pulse-raising action, breathtaking suspense, and heart-rending characterization that pulls the audience into the compelling drama and surprising plot twists. Again treading the gray area between right and wrong, the Stalker stars Nick Cheung and Nicholas Tse have a reversal of roles in Stool. Winning an unprecedented seven Best Actor awards in the last outing, Cheung is a conflicted cop struggling between his duty and conscience this time as Nicholas Tse becomes the two-bit criminal forced to cooperate with him as his stool pigeon. Hong Kong director Dante Lam takes audiences on a journey into a disturbed mind in psychological thriller That Demon Within. In one of his most challenging roles to date, Daniel Wu stars as a righteous policeman who becomes consumed by evil when he unwittingly saves a ruthless criminal, played by Nick Cheung. A considerable change of pace from entertaining action dramas like Beast Stalker and Unbeatable, That Demon Within sees Lam bravely stepping into a new artistic territory as he explores a dark side that lives within all of us in this unrelentingly dark and always gripping film. That Demon Within had its world premiere at the Panorama section of the Berlin Film Festival and was the closing film of the 2014 Hong Kong International Film Festival. Dave (Daniel Wu) is a by-the-books police officer who is assigned to hospital duty. When Han (Nick Cheung) is brought in one day from a serious traffic accident, Dave agrees to save Han's life by giving him an urgent blood transfusion. However, the policeman discovers afterwards that Han is actually a ruthless criminal who has killed cops and commits daring daytime heists with his cohorts in the Demon Gang. Soon, Dave finds himself haunted by what he has done, especially after hearing that Han has escaped police custody. Suffering from hallucinations and memories of a trauma in his past, Dave sets out to find Han and stop the Demon Gang before he goes mad. This edition includes deleted scenes, making of and trailers.

In the near future, an advanced system of DNA profiling has been developed that revolutionizes the very nature of crime investigation. Ryuhei. Suddenly on the run from the law, Ryuhei must get to the bottom of the mystery and conspiracy surrounding the system he built and the first person he needs to confront is himself. Andy Lau delivers a powerful performance in Lee Rock I, the first of two films chronicling the true story of one Hong Kong police officer's rise to power. Lee Rock (Andy Lau) is a barely-literate street kid who joins the police force only to learn a rough lesson: the goal of being a cop is to gain promotions, and not necessarily to protect and serve. Bribes and kickbacks are a part of the game, and to try and remain clean is to invite isolation and poverty. Lee Rock tries to stick to his personal ideals anyway. But his righteousness earns him derision of the fellow cops and even causes him to lose his beloved fiancee Rose (Chingmy Yau)! Eventually, Lee Rock becomes determined to become Chief of Police to affect change from within, but the obstacles are great. His corrupt superior (Paul Chun) is looking to destroy him, and his new flame Grace (Sharla Cheung) happens to be the daughter of a top gangster! Can Lee Rock make it to the top without tarnishing his very soul? Andy Lau earned a Best Actor Nomination for his performance as the title character in Lee Rock, a tense and intelligent motion picture that brings true-to-life drama to the Hong Kong police genre. Followed by the sequel Lee Rock II, which features the return of Chingmy Yau, and also Aaron Kwok as Lee Rock's son!
